a shoot-out in southeast washington sends as many as four people to the hospital around 10:00. in southwest, one person is dead after a shooting on forrester street. kristin wright is live at the police department now with more on another victim. kristin? >> reporter: yeah. we're actually live at the scene right now. this brings the number of homicides in d.c. this year to 109. this one happened last night at 10:30. two people were shot, the one who was killed is a man we're told. the other person who was shot is also an adult male. we are told he right now is in life threatening critical to grave condition. so that number of homicides could rise to 110. again, this shooting happened at 10:30. you are looking at pictures from the scene just last night of all the police activity happening. you see a large police crime van there, lots of detectives and police officers. trying to put all of the pieces together. but not a whole lot of information coming out at this point, but one person is dead from this shooting on forrester street, right off of south capital and one person in bra

inside this home on hilltown road in southeast washington, a young child, for reasons unknown , had a seizure and lost consciousness. fire officials say a fire engine rushed to the scene can arrive within six minutes of the initial call. thene 30 was left with child because the closest ambulance was seven miles away. they say all the other ambulances with advanced lights -- life-support capability, or on other calls. call, theyafter the sent a different ambulance while in route to the hospital. the child was transported to the hospital, where the child died. call volume was heavy at the time and the full complement of ambulances was available. sources tell abc 7 news 39 ambulances are not enough to service a bitty city -- a busy city like washington. admits that an few months ago, there were 10 additional ambulances on the street. for unspecified reasons, those units are out of service. certainly do not have access to all the medical information. all of that information is going to be gathered. the bottom line is, we do not know if the events of this day contributed directly to this c
