main culprit for that is a new low developing out here to the west out of southeastern china. it has brought reports of 100 millimeters of total rainfall. that will continue to develop and even work its way there to the east. down to the south in the tropics, afternoon thunderstorms flaring up for those of you in the philippines. but the big topic is this our tropical storm, the sixth storm of the season just at the start of may here. this is storm noel and it is working to the west impacting the state of yap at this time. but it is going to potentially impact the philippines by the weekend. a lot of time to watch this. it could waver in his direction and miss you there and pull off to the north or move on to luzon. will keep you updated on that. in the americas thunderstorms flaring up in the central plains today. unsettled weather. on wednesday this isn't going anywhere fast. in the east you need the rainfall. we have showers in the forecast in new york. but the winds will be kicking up. any wildfires that do start could spread fairly quickly. in europe let's talk about this

here in eastern asia because you are also being impacted by some rough weather if you are in southeastern china we have this frontal area continuing to linger. that's expected to develop and push off towards the east impacting japan as we head into your thursday. north of that another low moving through eastern china, that's bringing widespread showers even thunderstorms. big issue here is that it is really developing because of its interaction between the colder air towards the north and we have that warm air in china. this is a prime example of what i'm talking about. look at ulan bator, you were in the 30s. talk about an early spring. back down to the freezing point there in central mongolia. even snow in forecast. but south of that in beijing, a big difference 25 for your high on thursday. heading over to japan you're looking at warm temperatures but still the passing showers for those of you commuting on your thursday heading home from your golden week holiday out here. let's see what's going on in europe now. big topic still today that low pressure area that's centered over the british is

we're looking at another 100 millimeters rainfall down in the southeastern portions of china and that'sin addition to the rainfall that's fallen at this point. flooding problems continue to linger as we go throughout the weekend. so for saturday shanghai down to taipei and hong kong seeing wet weather and temperatures in the 20s for shanghai 30s further down south. as we take a look at the forecast for north america we have been talking about these persistent storms in the central portions of the united states but we also saw some stormy activity over into the northeastern portions of the united states. check this picture out on thursday coming out of massachusetts where these strong storms caused trees to split apart here and land on various houses in the process and this is not something that we want to see but because of the very unstable weather those pictures are a reality and in fact on top of that flash flooding continues to be a concern along with some strong thunderstorms in the central portions of the united states. we're looking at the possibility of seeing more flash floodin
