anywhere you see the dark shading of green, southeastern minnesota, western wisconsin and northeastern iowa, that's where the flood watches are and the flood warnings highlighted in that shading of brighter green. you can see the radar lighting up like a christmas tree across the region. there's more ryne fall in store and the band of precipitation travels south down to the texas and mexico border where more flooding is actually taking place. this time just west of the dallas region. you can see san angelo at the moment under a flash flood warning and the watches extend all the way to the u.s. and mexico border. you can see that abundant moisture inundating this region. an additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall has fallen on the ground. it means that the flooding potential continues into the end of the weekend. that's not the only threat in america. as we speak, we have a threat for high fire danger across southern california, specifically in the los angeles region. this is all thanks to strong winds and high temperatures that have settled into the area. this is known as the santa ana winds a

that's when the bulk of the precipitation fell across parts of iowa and to southeastern minnesota and i want to point out specifically, this area highlighted in white. that's where we're received over 10 inches of rainfall. that's over 250 millimeters. specifically out of the cedar look what's to the south. cedar rapids. we investigated closer a hydrograph. this gives an indication of the water levels at the river. you can see that cedar river at cedar rapids has not crested just yet. look what's coming as we head into the monday time frame. we're anticipating this river to rapidly rise around the cedar rapids region. so this particular city needs to be on close lookout, in fact, i believe there are some suggested evacuations taking place there because we do expect that river to flood at least 11 feet above major flood stage level. take a look at some of the flooding visuals coming out of the region already. unfortunately, there have been two fatalities in western wisconsin's vernon county. we're awaiting again in cedar rapids for the river to crest on monday. recommended evacuations

upper air low, drifting back towards eastern iowa and then kind of loops back towards chicago and eventually by early next week. they will track up into southeastern canada. so with that particular track, some energy will rotate up around the upper low to try to push that light precipitation back into eastern iowa. but the models will indicate only .04 inches so it will not be much. you'll go a little bit further though to the east and the rain totals will be substantially higher, but the bottom all of this is that they will be getting close enough to it to cause more clouds as we go into the weekend and maybe a few light showers. our predictor here at midnight will show you how the clouds will continue to advance in from the east and by tomorrow morning they're getting into most of our region. at noontime we're covered up in those clouds. here and there a few sprinkles of rain, those will last through tomorrow night and finally by the time you get to saturday morning still a few light showers around, but nothing that's going to amount to a great deal just a lot of clouds. so your forecast for tonight as low temps will be back in the most areas an
