blizzard warnings up for parts of southeastern pennsylvania. new york city, long island, connecticut, massachusetts, even coastal maine so many areas are going to get walloped by this winter storm that is now beginning to develop in the deep south. the primary low is in the gulf of mexico and you can see the line of thunderstorms also developing. this along with energy to the north and west will create a new low off of the carolinas and it will deepen fast enough that we take advantage of all of that moisture and that strengthening storm as it passes by. so o-you do not want to be on the roads anywhere between 4:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. that is really the height of the storm. the strongest winds. the heaviest snowfall rates, especially philadelphia to the north and west. very heavy rain along the coastal communities southern new jersey and delaware where it does change to rain but then it starts to improve quickly during the late afternoon, so if you had to, and i stress that, venture out, wait until very late, 4 o'clock or even

you can see the dark purples and pinks that would be significant snow for southeastern pennsylvania includingadelphia area. all the way into parts of new england. bottom line as far as what to expect. we're watching the storm intensity as we move toward early next week. the exact track the amount of that cold air in place and also where the banding will set up. but once again, so far the biggest snowfall 3-inches kathy back in january. >> that would be easy to beat with that storm. no doubt about it. if everything comes together. behind us we're looking at a beautiful afternoon across the delaware valley with temperatures that are going to end up falling quickly overnight tonight. as we look ahead, during the evening hours, temperatures will be falling and during the day tomorrow, it will be cold as well. here's looking at your forecast for tomorrow 41 degrees. a wintry mix in philadelphia. a mild -- minor accumulation in the city with more to the north and west. cold over the weekend even for the st. patrick's day parade on sunday but it will be dry and potential for snowstorm on tuesday. ma

take a look at satellite and radar, got a couple of sprinkles, light showers showing up in southeastern pennsylvania don't think we see any showers until maybe late tonight and even that will be very light. we're talking about a little bit of drizzle. so here's the setup. upper air pattern, the chilly air that's been in place most of the work week has vacated going up north where it belongs. we have nice mild temperatures on tap for today. widespread 60's for the northeast and again for washington a little bit further to the south well into the 70's courtesy of high pressure off the coast of the southeast. now here's what it looks like. fox futurecast as we go through time, still breaks of sunshine today, mainly cloudy but i think we'll see peaks late afternoon. here's our chance of a shower as we have a little bit corridor towards 270 into the district at 6 o'clock tonight. kind of one of those nights as you head out it will be mild but a hooded jacket would behoove you because we have light showers and drizzle moving in for the overnight period. by sunday tomorrow back door cold front comes throug

but in southeastern pennsylvania, does look like it stays at least all snow, that's where we will seehe highest amounts. here is a look at the possible snow amounts. you can see, philadelphia right on the cusp kind of six to 12 inches possible in philadelphia, wilmington, and up into trenton. now, philadelphia little closer to that 12 to 18 mark, and so they could see on the higher end that far six to 12. so, we could possibly be seeing some double digits, not triple digits, double digits close to philadelphia, close to trenton, into lancaster, allentown expecting 12 to 18 inches possible. now, this is just preliminary, a lot of this could change, especially, if the track of this heads a little bit further west, what we will see are some lower snowfall totals. because there might and change-over to rain. but what we do know is this is a significant snow that's going to be headed our way monday night into tuesday. double digits possibly for some of us inland. and then the damaging winds, that's going to be a big one, power outages, expected, and coastal flooding. timing, again, monday

she's from coatsville, pennsylvania, that's in southeastern pennsylvania within the range of philadelphia -- suburban philadelphia. she wrote to tell me how important medicaid is to her family and to tell me about her 5-year-old sun rowen. she sent me a picture of rowen with a firefighter's hat on. he is fascinated by the heroic work of firefighters. i won't go through her whole letter, but she got news a couple of years ago that many parents get during the course of the life of their children. she got news in march of 2015 that her son rowen was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. the diagnosis was made by a psychologist who works for the intermediate unit, meaning the unit that provides special education. rowen continued in the preschool program and day care program before and after school, but pam goes on to say, quote, i was never able to find a day care suitable for all of rowen's needs. i applied for medical assistance. i'll stop there to explain. medical assistance is the state end of the medicaid program. we call it medical assistance. other states have a different name for i
