moisture whether or not chantal develops into something stronger could be pulled to the southeastern united states this weekend. that's why we're watching it closely. it's early to have our third tropical storm of the season and this one one of those that developed in those lower latitudes. here is the latest on chantal. let me pinpoint it for you because this thing is 320 miles east southeast of barbados as of the last update but i tell you the hurricane hunters were investigating and they found it was getting stronger. it now has winds of 50 miles an hour. the concern is for the caribbean islands is the same concern we have in the eastern united states. they've had double their normal rainfall. san juan puerto rico has had 13 inches since june 1st. it's moving rapidly northwest at 26. it looks like it will go through the lesser antilles tomorrow and haiti wednesday with winds getting stronger up to 70 miles an hour. that keeps it just under hurricane strength. and then you can see it makes that turn and we may see it near the bahamas saturday afternoon. much weaker down to 35 miles per hour and
