so the heat is tracking to the souther plains where temperatures are going to be well into triple digits in some areas. cooler air pushing across the great lakes. and we're expecting storms by mid week as we keep an eye on the same frontal system i spoke aboubecause we'll see a low pressure system and that will set us up for unsettled weather. this ridge of high pressure moves out of the way in the next day and that will set us up for monday where we'll see mainly a few clouds in the morning, could see a passing morning shower, but then by afternoon we do have a chance of showers and a slight risk of a thunderstorm by the time we get into later part of the early evening hours into monday night. so we'll watch that closely for you. in the meantime, for today, enjoy it. tonight a few clouds. your overnight lows will be into the upper 50s, low 60s in just about all neighborhoods. but for today if you're heading to the beach, cape hatteras will have thunderstorms to the south but elsewhere, mostly sunny skies. temperatures in the upper 70 at all beach locations. so pretty nice day to get out
