later on tonight, the cold front sweeps down through southern california. even santa barbara to los angeles will get a little taste of it with 1 to 2 inches of rain. you know what that does to even the traffic and commuting all the way down through southern california. so the winds, they haven't really moved in yet. so far gusts 40 miles per hour. we haven't seen any damaging winds yet. those are going to start to pick up during the daylight hours today, especially around san francisco, right around the lunch hour, then as we go through southern california a little later on this evening. wind gusts up to 80 miles per hour in the mountains. that's why we're going to have the issues out there. so it's a very impressive storm. as we've said, it's the biggest one in six years. but you kind of have the caveat there haven't been many storms the last six years. >> as a guy that lived in l.a. for three years, drivers get a little panicky. >> 2 inches of rain is a lot of rain for l.a. >> it is and people are not used to that. especially going up to the north there.

some of the mountains in southern california are in white this morning.downed trees power outages continue after about the noon hour. i think they will start to tail off. there's still gusts in a few ice -- few isolated locations. i think there will be teens in the north bay. if the wind tails off enough, there will be plenty of 20s and 30s. concord is 32. 37 santa rosa. again, only -- red woo city is 31. it wouldn't take much. once the breeze dies down. it's showing soins of that. still blustery in san francisco. along parts of the coast and the higher elevations. the snow looks like it's about done. but still, it has set the stage for just a winter wonderland down there. las vegas did not get snow. it was close. snow evaluated before it hit the ground but maybe tonight and also as the low ejects out there. there will be snow in flagstaff and rain in phoenix. it's a power house system coming out of southern california. we're on the northern edge of it. we get the clear skies. cold, breezy. a lot of sunshine. 40s in the higher elevations. 50s for others.
