in southern california massive wildfires burning out of control. now in los angeles county. you can see the video here. this is the palisades fire now burned more than 1300 acres up in the santa monica mountains. 0% contained right now. we have john with the larry latest now on firefighting efforts. >> fire crews working into the night trying to make a dent in the stubborn palisades fire. the air tankers and helicopters bombing the flames from above. the suspicious blaze to ing its way through steep terrain in the santa monica mountains. scorching more than 1300 acres. authorities suspect arson. one individual was detained and released. we now have a second individual that has been detained and is being questioned right now. >> but the actual cause of the fire remains under active firefighters on the ground facing an uphill battle as they try to contain the fire consuming dry brush that hasn't burned in decades. unfortunately, the area where the fire has has been impacted by drought and some of the areas haven't burned in. >> 50 to 60 years. so there's quite a bit of dry veg
