as that storm develops, it is a short drive in the hemisphere from quÉbec and southern canada down intothe u.s. the weather service has dropped warning for us. we still have winter weather advisory's. blizzard warning's continuing along long island. all the way up along the coast of massachusetts. this is a big storm. boston metro area can pick up 18 inches or two feet inland. have our own issues. that will be from falling temperatures and the winds. or wind advisory in effect until tomorrow for the entire area. winds 30 miles per hour come augustine close to 45-50. a wind chill advisory. with the snow on the ground and temperatures at or just below freezing, we have issues enough. but as we get to the overnight and into the morning, temperatures will get down into the teens and lower 20's. the snow will free solidly. area southeast of this city that have been seen rain, those temperatures will rapidly fall at by sunrise. snow that is solidly frozen will cause problems. havee radio tonight, we seen the traffic reports and there are numerous accidents. people spinning out or off of ramps

you see the storm tracks going well up into canada and not affecting southern california. and the snow should be in the mountains, but we're not getting it. it's going up and around this area of high pressure. this is out west. to the east, low pressure with the pattern here, the disturbances around the boundary here, with the cold air and this gives snow and wind and shots of cold air. off the coast. light snow on thursday and friday, and then another disturbance coming down through north dakota and midnight and then through the midwest, light snow, but another shot of cold air behind it. and reinforcing the weather pattern. it's not changing. this is what we can expect today and tomorrow. and another one coming down this weekend. look for the weather patter, and it's not changing much in the next few days. the wind is picking up and we have wind gusts of over 60, 70 miles per hour. at least, and this is a high wind warning for north dakota. and it goes to kansas. light snow coming in from the north. and that's the gusty wind. the temperatures dropping only to 5 in fargo.

in traders are attributing it to the fact that we are starting to see shipping on trans canada's southern oklahoma, which is depressed u.s. oil prices and the wti oil contract and we are seeing as a result the spread there, the narrowing of the spread between the brent crude contract and the wti contract, as well. brent crude though also getting a lift approaching $108 a barrel. we're watching what's happening in natural gas. yes, this cold spell is lingering and in fact we're seeing temperatures some 30 degrees below normal in many parts of the country. that is having an impact on natural gas demand and that's having an i pact on national gas prices. also near the highs of the session up 4% or so today and even into the stock markets we're seeing prices that while futures are 2.5 year high we're seeing highest price on record in the northeast in the cash market. we've had some difficulty with some pipeline and balances and that's caused prices and cash market to spike up some $100 above where they normally trade right about now. >> thank you very much, sharon epperson. what a day in the
