and right now coming in over southern marin. and right back over north beach things are picking up. and right over the golden gate. some areas are getting a break. some of the heavier rain in the east bay bay has moved off. nothing that is really lighting up. some areas are showing up around the santa cruz. waterspouts, funnel clouds would not surprise me in this. now probably offshore but it's certainly there. some of the gusts 30 miles an hour. even san jose up to 26. so get ready for a raw day. there will be a few breaks in the clouds. but still coming up they are not done yet. we still have ways to go. rainfall projetion will lift a little bit. south bay and santa cruz mountains. still really impressive for parts of the north bay. could get very active there friday into saturday. rain clouds, thundershowers. rainbow weather will be with us today. a breezy mild kind of day. but some areas heavy, heavy downpours approaching four inches of rain. sal i'm telling you man, things are unbelievable here. >> yeah it's kind of the perfect storm if i will. i use that expression for drivers

southbound 101 very slow out of san rafael all the way down to the southern marin area. n you believe that? a long line of slow traffic because of that rockslide blocking two lanes near rodeo on the waldo grade. avoid heading south. if you want to get out of marin, use the richmond bridge and put the trip off. they won't be finished cleaning this up for the next few hours. also looking at the bay bridge toll plaza, it's not too bad getting into san francisco. there's a small delay there with no major issues. and if you are driving on 280 northbound getting up to highway 17, the santa clara valley looks very good. now let's go to rosemary in the weather center. >>> our weather looking good especially as we get into the afternoon. mostly sunny skies around the bay area. temperatures will be in the 60s. giving you a live look into san francisco. you can see those clouds beginning to break up. this is happening slowly but surely. still fog out there in some areas. take it easy. the other item we've been talking about this morning, the king tides they are back. we do have a co

the golden gate will see slick roadways and even southern marin could see rain through tomorrow afternoonand by the delta with the fog. livermore, foggy for you at 54 degrees. in fact, less than a quarter mile visibility out for our friends in the east bay valleys. concord doing much better and salinas half-mile visibility. it's been quite foggy. here is sfo. no wonder they have delays, almost an hour. we are looking at some sunshine here later on. there will be another mild day. so the fog lifts and we will look for a dry afternoon. showers mainly in the north bay tonight through monday. but you could see a stray one on the peninsula over into berkeley. otherwise we are dry through tuesday and heavy rain, gusty winds and powerful pacific storm heads our way wednesday night. really right on through friday. there's another one behind that one. here's the weak front. the tail end will lift and perhaps a couple raindrops, a tenth of an inch or so for parts of the north bay. then we get a little break and behind it there's a very powerful system. let's take you through the next 24 hours or so

technically speaking highway 1 is still there in southern marin county, but once you see underneath the understand why that road is closed. >> for anyone not familiar with the area this is a windy road that descends a hill that goes down to muir beach. >> reporter: if you have ever toured muir woods, now the intersection of highway 1 and panoramic, a junction that now comes with exactly zero options. thursday's storm caused all kinds of road problems in marin county. >> streets flooded. there's flooding in a lot of places. >> reporter: most of those problems involve water on top of the roadways. but for this particular spot on highway 1, it was a different story. you know, from on top, it doesn't look that bad on the surface. you can see a small crack in the asphalt that they put down about three years ago. but when you see how far the slide has undercut this road, well, that tells the full story. >> so as the storm was going on, it was eroding away at the hillside. eventually the hillside began eroding underneath the roadway. >> reporter: so how are they going to fix it? put in a new r

. >>> here's a look at tiburon in the southern marin county area where the latest round of rain is causing some serious flooding there. a fire department battalion chief says the marsh area is overwhelmed by some of the runoff from the hillside. the excess water spilled across tiburon boulevard which is the main road in town. some businesses across the street from town hall have been flooded. >>> time now is 6:31. elizabeth has a traffic alert. >> i have better news now for folks trying to get out of the santa cruz mountains. within the last couple of minutes they just reopened one northbound lane approaching the glenwood drive cutoff. so one northbound lane just reopened and one is closed. traffic is still heavy in the area and southbound they say it's going to take another hour or so in order to re-open those lanes. so again that's a new estimated time we just got in. also, soquel san jose road is no longer a goo alternate. use highway 9 or 152 to 101 instead. this is what the roads look like outside richmond/san rafael bridge approach still slick but at least traffic is moving well acro

at twenty nine palms, california, and then graduated from marine corps scout sniper school in march of 2008, and he was redeployed to southern afghanistan just a few weeks later. his unit returned to the united states in late october 2008 and he was honorably discharged from the marines in april 2009. after he returned home, clay suffered from post traumatic stress disorder, ptsd. he struggled for many years, and he struggled with inadequate care from his local v.a. hospital before taking his own life. the clay hunt suicide prevention act passed the house of representatives just a little while ago this week. and i believe this is an important piece of legislation. i serve on the senate veterans' committee, and we had testimony related to suicide prevention, suicide among our veterans just a few weeks back. and it is so clear in kansas and across the country that many veterans and their families deserve something much more than we're able to provide, that we are providing now. and this legislation which will help in that regard deserves swift passage by the united states senate. this bill, the clay hunt suicide prevention act
