watch that was just issued, literally a minute ago, by the storm prediction center for much of southern minnesotarthern iowa and west central parts of wisconsin. this includes the twin cities minneapolis-st. paul, and man cato, down to rochester, wynonna, lacrosse, wisconsin, and down into mason city, iowa. that will be in effect until 11:00 tonight. we'll watch for thunderstorms to be developing that could start rotating. there's a lot of spin with this storm. much of the energy with it is going to stay to the north. that said, we still have a rift across parts of missouri and arkansas. we've got a line associated with a cold front producing strong thunderstorms with winds at times in excess of 60 miles per hour. isolated tornadoes are expected here. so we can't rule out that possibility, and something people need to be aware of tonight. as we take a look at this area, we're talking from the u.p. of michigan down to the gulf coast, where we have the threat of severe thunderstorms. and this system is going to stick with us, by the way, into tomorrow. so people who live in upstate new york, down i

that's why we were talking about snow in minnesota with the threat of tornadoes on if southern part of that -- on the souther part of that state. that's how much of a contrast that's creating. we're on the warm side of the storm through tomorrow with temperatures even higher. we will cool down later on this week. but nothing all that drastic as we're seeing out to the west. it's all because of this storm system right in here. we had severe weather yesterday. numerous reports, over 232 reports of tornadoes just yesterday. there's a new round breaking out. it will weaken significantly by it gets to us so we're just talking about a chance for a shower or thunderstorms. we really do need that rain. that chance would be monday night into tuesday with the front coming through. then there's another much weaker storm that's going to pass to our south on wednesday. could clip maryland with a few showers and clouds but that's about it. but a third storm is coming our way earlier in the week. that's going to change our weather pattern into next weekend. out on the waters with the winds up out of

we have a brand-new tornado watch in southern parts of minnesota and northern portions of iowa and westernsin. this is the area we are going to be watching very closely today because we do have a moderate risk issued by the storm prediction center from the national weather service stating that we have a moderate risk for severe storms to fire up. you can see some of those in western parts of the tornado watch area this. goes into effect until 11:00 p.m. central time. so we have several hours here that we will be tracking the storms. a second tornado watch, including southern missouri and north western arkansas, little rock, you are outside of this tornado watch. but the other one did include minneapolis, so a big, populated center there. you can see the storm in southern missouri and arkansas. right now, no tornado warnings in missouri or arkansas, but we will continue to track the storms and keep an eye on them. if we get any tornado warnings, we will bring them to you. minneapolis, also the way down into parts of southeastern texas, so this is where we are looking at the risk for large h

southern new hampshire. in particular, boston. minnesota, new mexico, michigan, wisconsin. we expect money to be spent by the republicans in all those states trying to get them into yellow. lean republican, we have arizona, indiana, iowa and missouri. of the four, really expect the obama campaign to focus on iowa. maybe they will play around in arizona. although they are pulling back because they don't see the path to 50% in that state. they only see 47. bottom line, this is a map that gets small for romney if he doesn't do what we were talking about, get the mid western states in a toss up and make inroads with hispanic voters. speaking of hispanic voters if the arizona law is upheld, how much will it fire up latinos? it's hard to predict how the supreme court decision would play out. the court upholding the law would energize latinos in a big way. it's an emotional issue that generates a lot of emotions on both sides. that was clear outside the court yesterday. based on their questions, while inside, a majority of the justices seemed to uphold one of the most controversia

southern plains. it was a violent weekend from texas to minnesota.. and the small city of woodward oklahoma suffered some of the worst devastation. five people in the city were killed, including three children. dozens of others were injured.. and at least 89 homes and 13 businesses were destroyed. it's something i've never had to deal with and don't ever want to have to again. a really devastating thing happened here. in tiny thurman, iowa.. population 250.. at least 75 percent of the town's homes and other buildings were damaged or destroyed. storms also left thousands of people without power in kansas. and the governors of kansas and oklahoma declared states of emergency. the man who confessed to killing 77 people in norway last summer claims he did it in self defense. anders breivik pleaded not guilty in court this morning. he claimed the attacks on july 22nd were necessary to protect norway against a muslim invasion. his trial is expected to last up to 10 weeks. his sentence will be based on his sanity assessment. if convicted, he may avoid the ma
