the rain earlier today, almost a half inch in most the spots around the bay area, already in southern nevada. behind it high pressure starting to build in. so the big storm off to west is going to lift to the north and move in north of seattle as we head into tomorrow. so we'll be going from this very briefly stormy pattern to a sunny one for us that will be a little bit windy at times. we'll have a chilly start to tomorrow morning. a little bit of patchy fog. we will see temperatures in the 30s and 40s tomorrow morning. afternoon highs upper 50s and low 60s. and this ridge of low pressure shp going to strengthen and act like a shield for us in california. storm track way off to the north. underneath that ridge of high pressure, we will see temperatures warming for the second half of the week. tomorrow morning, your morning commute could get slowed by some patchy fog. into solano county, as you get into the eastern half of contra costa county as well. you may have a little bit of fog for the morning. as you head toward the afternoon, we'll see temperatures maybe as warm as the low 60s in som

every hospital in southern nevada is operating in the red. why is that? because the cost of providing health care to the uninsured in emergency rooms is astronomical. but there's more. if we will be eliminating the pre-existing condition ban ffment you have a pre-existing condition which at least 129,000 people in my district have, you will not be able to get any insurance at all. if we repeal this bill, all of those 20-somethings who are living at home and because of the economy, they can't find a job, they aren't going to be able to tay on their parents' health care plan, 26,000 people in my congressional district, including my two children. the health care reform bill eliminates lifetime caps, ask two in my district who have juvenile diabetes and they have exceeded their lifetime caps. better yet, ask their mothers how they will be able to afford their medication for their children if the bill is repealed. what should we tell our seniors. the doughnut hole that this law starts to close. who are going to ask the seniors who received the $250 last year t

southern lake county until 8:00 tomorrow morning. not even two weeks into this winter season and the sierra nevada has received dozens of feet of snow. there is so much competition for business up on the slopes that resorts are trying harder than ever to lure skiers and snowboarders on to chairlift. claudia cowan reports. >> reporter: california's ski areas are off to an epic seen with 25 plus feet of soft snow and scores of powder hounds paying between $80 and $90 to spend the day carving turns. getting more bang for their bucks as resorts offer more extras on and off the mountain. >> i think it is maybe a half a billion dollars of improvements that have occurred over the last five years in tahoe. so we are kind of the happening fun place to go as far as skiing in the nation right now. >> one improvement is smart terrain. at north store in north lake tahoe it means snow banks molded into perfectly spaced moguls to help skiers and riders learn the bumps faster and with fewer bruises. >> smart terrain is a way to get people to have those sensations of skiing and riding very quickly in the experience. as soon as you start to have the s

it's sliding down into southern parts of the bay area now, but maybe more importantly for our water supply the snowpack is just incredible, 100, 200 plus% in parts of the sierra nevada and still -- plus percent in part of the sierra nevada and still more to come. we've been watching this storm winding down outside right now, still a couple raindrops, but the showers starting to head a little further south as it looks like this system will continue to make its way down into southern california and they really tonight want the rain either. they've had tremendous amounts of rain, even more than parts of the bay area in some spots. hi-def doppler picking up on that moisture now, we had a pretty good soccer overnight, some places over 1/2-inch, showers continuing in hayward and freemont and more in the south bay. in towards san jose scattered light showers especially up in toward los gatos and santa cruz mountains. over the central bay just widely scattered activity and even less heading further north. the storm system is sag further and further south. throughout the evening things will be tapering off. so we've got some pretty good weather headed our way, probably the d
