it's mainly for southern new jersey. meaning the potential is there for storms to turn severe but they're moving into some very warm air. it's 77 in millville, 78 dover, 78 in atlantic city. but where the rain has already fallen it's down to 68 philadelphia, 64 allentown, 65 in reading so those temperatures quickly cooling off here this evening post rain. as we look at satellite and radar it's all a part of a cold front that stretches way down to the south into parts of the virginias and eventually the carolinas. a lot of clouds lag behind it but overnight tonight we'll have that early period of some heavy rain and those thunderstorms but quick clearing after midnight. temperatures dropping to 49 in the suburbs, 55 degrees for center city. about an hour and a half from now about 7 o'clock, the storms will be far down into southern new jersey and delaware and as you can see it's beginning to break up, not as much in the way of red color there. off the coast by about 9:00, 9:30 we start to clear the sky and then tomorrow m

showing a few clouds up towards reading and allentown but clearing conditions across much of southern new jersey we'll keep it mostly clear throughout the overnight period and temperatures right now not feeling too bad in philadelphia. 60 degrees right now. 55 in allentown. little cooler in ac at 53 degrees right now and checking in on the neighborhood network, had a little bit of a breeze today but wind speeds generally now calm to light and that's how they'll remain through the overnight period. coolest temperature reading right now 49 degrees in mays landing. we're up at 56 degrees right now in wayne. as i mentioned that cold front is going to drop through as we head into the early portion of the day on friday. then on the back side of this system we'll see a spinning of cold canadian air that will bring us chill left air of the season so far. we haven't yet seen 30s during the overnight period in philadelphia and we are going to feel that as we head into the up coming weekend also some high temperatures that will really struggle especially on sunday. 52 degrees the forecasted high temperatur

we have coastal flood advisories going up and again, you can see warnings from parts of the southern new jerseynd heading down into delaware and watches as we get further north. that is independent of joaquin. that is interesting set up here. in the only do we have a hurricane but we have jet stream staying well to the south, a low pressure system that will be track ago long this cold front and then the uncertain track. so atmosphere is set up is very charged. we have a lot going on but what we can say is a a lot of tropical moisture. taking a look at the spaghetti plot, the different models. you can see there is a a wide, varied pad here. we have some taking it out to sea, we have some bringing it inland. lets look at gfs first. this is one that was bringing it inland the most strong inland trajectory and what we can see this morning is it is actually skirting it a little bit out. still along the coast, dragged it inland and when there will be rain. the euro that was taking it out to sea is still stubbornly taking it out to sea. it is projecting it goes right on you. we will start to look at c

the new track keeps the scepter of circulation off the eastern seaboard at least through southern new jersey still leaves new york and new england in danger as we get toward tuesday and wednesday of next week. but for us, the new track and new information keeping it farther to the east and potentially keeping the center offshore is a huge break for us from a wind perspective. still expecting an enormous amount of rain over the next couple of days. so start getting ready now. get the gutters and downspouts cleans out. if you have a basement with stuff in it that you care about, you want to move it above basement level. wind and rain coming for today. light and moderate showers. but tomorrow and saturday, the nor'easter. before that, the nor'easter means a lot of wind-driven rain around here for tomorrow and for saturday. there will be a high impact event, weather alert days of friday and saturday. it means more frequent updates and the alt of rainfall we could be seeing could be quite extreme. potential 3 to 6 inches. in and around the metro, a solid 2 to 3 inches of rain. so do take this ver
