a couple light returns in southern pennsylvania, most not making it to the ground just yet. plenty of moisture in our direction. blizzard warnings in parts of iowa and kansas and nebraska and isolated severe thunderstorms from memphis, tennessee towards new orleans. that whole push of moisture is coming in our direction. there's just enough cold air right on the northern periphery of the storm to make it change from rain to snow. this snow line is drifting during the course of the overnight hours tonight. this is the winter we aren't able to get a sustained amount of moisture. if we're going to get any snow, it's probably less than an inch across northern maryland. we start off with a smidgen of sunshine. by the time we get to tomorrow, things are clearing out as it drifts to the south. on our future weather up close and personal. stopped at 3:00 this afternoon, the time the first drops are sneaking into the area. sundown, 8:00 and 9:00 this evening. raindrops switching over midnight tonight and sunrise tomorrow morning. the amount of precipitation we will get will be extrem

you folks in southern-most pennsylvania might get a flake, but nothing around the washington area.n to the texas coast. that is actually our next chance for rain around here, but it doesn't look to be arriving until the second half of the day on tuesday. so, cold and windy, those are the two words for tuned for the overnight hours tonight. winds will start to lay down just a bit during the course of the day tomorrow and late in the day high clouds start coming. in and by 9:00 a.m. tuesday morning, skies going from partly to mostly cloudy. may have a little snow in the beginning out in western maryland, but i think here it will be rain. today, partly sunny, windy and cold, temperatures struggling to get into the upper 20s and low 30s. the all-important forecast tomorrow, the warming trend continues, highs near 42. 45 wednesday, but with the clouds and a chance for rain around, that will feel an awful lot like a wintry day. mostly cloudy wednesday, another chance for rain, maybe a little snow late thursday night into friday. you can always follow me on twitter. and see, look at this.

the north and west, western maryland coming out of west virginia, kind of moving into southern sections of pennsylvaniae this will probably expand just a little bit. heaviest amounts should stay to the south of us. let me show you what's going on, though, the big story. warm temperatures down to the south. we're 59 degrees here. still not too terribly cold across the northern tier. there is, however, some cold air that's going to be making a run for us for the weekend, okay. for the weekend. next couple of days, this warmth will be coming up from the south. today we were in the lower 60s. tomorrow looks like it's probably going to be the warmest day of the week. we'll certainly be warmer tomorrow than where we were today. we haven't changed anything. we're still thinking upper 60s. looks like on friday at least until temperatures start dropping late in the day we'll be right back up into the middle 60s. so three days this week in the 60s. then we'll be cooler for the weekend. 59 right now here in town. quantico 60. fredricksburg again 62. they're living large down there. culpeper is 61. some clouds at
