here's our clipper system coming out of ohio and kentucky and southern west virginia. this is going to move off toward the east. you get the idea that the southern half of virginia is going to see the snow. however, there's some indications that some of this snow may actually get closer toward fauquier county, culpeper, maybe fredricksburg, maybe southern maryland. you might pick up a little bit here on the grassy surfaces with temps this morning in the upper 20s and low 30s. road surfaces are warm. it would really have to snow to beat the band to overcome those mild temperatures and that high sun angle, some of that snow gets into the -- gets down through the clouds and heats the ground a little bit. here's a look at our michael & son camera. good visibility. the white house dark with a temperature of 33. notice how dry the air is. we have a 13-degree spread between the dew point and the temperature. any snow we get close even by us, i think a lot of the northern edge is going to be evaporated but you definitely see some of the darker blues. that's some moderate snow a

see the freeze watch in southern pennsylvania but western maryland parts of west virginia, we're lookingarnings and totally possible that these freeze warnings going to be expanded out to hagerstown and maybe even northern frederick county closer to martinsburg and romney watch out for that. for thus morning at the bus stop, not bad. we're in the 50s, a little breezy out there but generally clear skies to start. sunrise in a few minutes at 6:57. sets at 7:30 this afternoon and a lot of sunshine today. temperatures though kind of be in check, only low to mid-60s for highs. in fact by the middle of the day barely 60 by 1:00 here in town. a lilt warmer shutoff d.c. with those highs in the low to mid- 60s and the winds staying up all day gusting 20, 25, 30 miles an hour. you can see the slightly milder temperatures with 60 down in richmond and tappahannock. we're down to 57 and to the north and west lower 50s now in the shenandoah valley and hagerstown as well where they're zitting at 53. locally mid 50s 234 most of the areas in montgomery county with 58 for centreville. form bell voir still

it includes parts if not half of west virginia right now. southernions of ohio all the way down toward the gulf coast. the red, those are current tornado warnings that are there right now. numerous tornadoes on the ground. in through kentucky right on down through tennessee and even a couple tornado warnings in through alabama right now. i would expect to see more as this all moves off toward the north and the east. however, i doubt seriously doubt that there will be any kind of watches in our area and that's good news. we do have some rain right now making its way through our region. some of the heavier rain still down toward southern maryland. look at the lightning associated with this storm across richmond. this may just clip southern portions of st. mary's county but i think you'll be okay there as it makes its way across the bay and in toward the open waters of the atlantic in just a little bit. here is the heaviest rain through calvert county right now along chesapeake beach down around calvert beach. we'll see that moving off toward the east a
