we have the typical fog and the winds will be picking up in the higher elevations. showers from southlake and yosemite. and in southernnia 56 miles per hour wind gusts around palm springs. take a look at this. some very gusty winds with an advisory in the mountains. a couple of inches of snow. we are looking at 40s and 50s back home with the winds from napa, contra costa county. higher elevations of the east bay, mt. diablo throughout the day today. contrast that to this calm picture and you will notice we are looking at numbers fairly typical. upper 30s petaluma and santa rosa. at the surface it will be breezy at times but the winds confined in the upper elevations. 50 in livermore and that's due to all the mixing on top of mt. diablo. we get the windy conditions above and it mixes down to the surface and it will allow for warmer temperatures in spots. but where the colder air is in the valley, it's still pretty chilly. you saw the 30s from santa rosa to napa. you will notice from the delta to santa rosa gusty, and 10:00 still same spot, getting breezy at the coast by 2:00 this afternoon. very gusty winds off the coa

so, the national weather service has posted a wind advisory for the southern half of our viewing areaidnight for wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour. the good news is about the winds the winds will be drying off a lot of roads. the problem with the wind, though, is that it's making it feel very cold and it is creating those wind chill factors. feels like 23 degrees in philadelphia, 19 in wilmington, 12 in reading. the wind chill in allentown is four and the wind chill in the poconos 2 degrees below zero and it's going to be a cold night and a very cold day tomorrow. so, satellite6 along with action radar showing that low pressure that brought us the rain and the snow, little less than an inch of snow in philadelphia, up to 8-inchs in parts of northern northampton county. that's moving away from us. now we have high pressure that's right over saint louis. so, this is what's creating that wind tunnel effect out of the northwest. that high pressure, though, will be building over us tomorrow and that will bring us a lot of sunshine but it will be brutally cold. so, future tracker showing t

winds to pick up. that's when we're really going to see conditions deteriorate. if you look at radar right now snow is filling in across southern new england. but there's also an arctic front. the line of heavier snow from new york state down to pennsylvania, once that front passes through that's when we'll see winds pick up. the storm is going to strengthen by overnight and early sunday morning we're looking at very gusty winds, blizzard conditions, blowing snow and whiteout conditions on the roads. so that storm is going to exit by early afternoon. but then the winds remain strong. so we're looking at lesser amounts now in boston, about six to nine inches of snow with the highest amounts up across down east maine especially eastern maine where we could end up with one to two feet. but even in southern new england where we're looking at three to four inches of snow, it's the blowing snow that's still going to make it very, very dangerous out on the roads. winds right now are already gusting up near 40 to 50 miles per hour back in places like the ohio river valley, even down into north carolina we're seeing those gusty winds. a
