some snow not really talking much in terms of accumulation but mainly to the north of the southside northeastern north carolina even portions of the peninsula mainly a rain event for us we could see a few snow flakes mixing and here's a look at satellite and radar were mainly dry across the viewing area right now but you get ahead a little farther west desert to see those snow showers pop up to snow showers are already crossing the state line and as i zoom out of you here's the system that i'm tracking most of the moisture with this system will stay far to our south but we're sort of on that northern edge of the system and so with the colder air that has moved in overnight that will likely produce eyes and definitely precipitation across the area but we're talking snow fall for mainly portions to the north of forty three degrees right now an orphan we just dropped down to six and current it's a pretty mild start to the morning especially for this time of the year forty right now and watch a parade where thirty nine and conway don't think that says we're starting off in the forties that we're going to see those

hampton roads i expect quite a bit of rain in the rain to be heavy for parts of eastern north carolina up to the southside on friday as we go friday night we're still looking at rain but notice the snow over northern virginia were talking area is twelve to fifteen inches or certainly a good chance that we can seize an extremely heavy snow up that way in through the mountains as well while we're looking at lighter amounts still significant snow on the richmond area north and then a lot of rain even late friday night into early saturday but saturday is the system exits. there's a chance that we're going to see that transition back to snow across parts of the area and you will get into more that just a moment for the outer banks nearly all rain was just a brief attention for mixing at the end of the system we are going to see strong winds shifting around that's going to push the tides higher than normal and on the backside we can see some sound side issues as well. heavy rain is likely as we mentioned we'll take a look at the southside this is virginia beach and norfolk portsmouth and chesapeake where to get

to winter weather advisory now for the peninsula and four part to the southside suffolk an isle of wight done in the north carolina we have gates county hartford and also burton county under that winter weather advisory. he go farther up the peninsula and we talk james city county williamsburg not just a winter weather advisory but a winter storm warning and that also includes a little peninsula and the northern neck so lost or maxis you guys are in on this two out towards richmond emporia heavier snow expected out this way we're going to see snow in the mix starting transitioning to rain very higher than normal. there's a high wind watch and a coastal flood watch for the coastal parts of our viewing area take a look now the storm system is approaching from the southwest and still outside of the thirteen years now viewing area. the rally starting to see at least a loss of snow and that's when mixed and the ground very quickly we've had some great live feeds coming out of charlotte's of the other areas out to the west where we have been tracking the snow quit with the g fs snow potential uses three saturday one am

shifted around behind the system that brought us a few showers on the southside yesterday but most of the rain was down across north carolina and that's really what we're saying this morning the rain has pushed off pretty quickly were seen clearing skies into the bridge into virginia so checking into williamsburg also pushing on to the south side are starting to see those clouds cleared nicely fuzzy head down to the outer banks road and the still picking up on as few very spotty showers to stretching down to hatteras is well chilled dough with a few light showers as we had in the morning hours. we'll see temperatures quickly climbing into the mid forties will top out in the upper forties by clouds as we approach the early action in ours has been a pretty nice day with more sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures temperatures will continue to climb into the weekend. id tell that we would let the weekend forecast coming up in just a few minutes as to how the midtown tunnel shipping a place to just ten minutes after five o'clock not a big pickup in volume over at the midtown tolerate see a few cars right now headed off west

parts of interior southside you go up into the northern neck and you're still finding generally mid forties or mid to upper forties a lot like you're seeing here even in north carolina fact this might be some of the cooler readings instead of him. if you're looking at the entire area in terms of the entire for but you get closer to the coastline upper forties to near fifty now the rest of the forecast noticed this first batch again moving out but then wore showers more occasional rain moves in during the evening and then during the overnight should leave us i don't think we'll see much rain much later that evening and the overnight hours but toward morning as the little bit of upper level energy swings through a lot of low clouds might produce one or two stray showers before everything clears up again gives us a very pleasant afternoon during the day on sunday. that's when things get a little iffy with some increasing clouds again cold temperatures and the chance for a little worried for this critical activity or even some light snow a little bit of a light mix. we're just going have to wait and see how much energy there is and how close that second system gets is t
