a southwest jet is back at the airport after it struck a bird on take-off. it was headed from sacramento to southern california when it had to circle back. there did not appear to be any damage. this all happened within the past hour. so far there are no reports of injuries. the runway was shut down as a precaution. coincidently, another plane was at the same runway and that plane blew a tire. there were no injuries. that plane is now grounded. it was headed from sacramento to seattle last night. >>> and we're following another story about a plane right here in the bay area this morning. federal investigators will arrive on the scene of a small plane crash in concord. it happened yesterday afternoon at buchanan field airport, not far from highway 4. lorraine blanco joins us with new information about the crash and the pilot. lorraine? >> reporter: good morning. i just got off the phone with buchanan. the ntsb will be out here this morning. newschopper2 shot this video right after the crash. it happened just after takeoff on tuesday afternoon. the pilot and h

it happened in the southwest section of the city.olice responded after several residents reported vandals overnight. it is not the first incident of its kind. a similar rash has struck in other neighborhoods in recent weeks. >> tire slashing about a week ago. then we had spray-painteing. it is beginning to feel like a neighborhood under siege. >> city police confirmed they taken several calls for vandalism but cannot provide an exact number of victims or say whether they have made any arrests. police are soliciting information as they investigate a late-night shooting in baltimore. police responded just before midnight last night. they found a 33-year-old man shot in the neck. the victim was taken to the hospital. we are told he is expected to recover. if you have information, call this number. family, friends, and city officials have been gathering at the memorial downtown to remember victims of violence and homicide. it is the third annual missing you candlelight vigil. anyone impacted by violence is invited to join together. mayor

we have a new weather disturbance out of the southwest. here we are in the baltimore area. the lighter green shades is grain up in the clouds. we see the little bit of yellow and some darker green shades. there are struggles and showers down in virginia, making it to the crowd in southwest virginia and parts of west virginia. that disturbance looks like it is going to be mostly to our south. we will keep an eye on it this evening. temperatures tell the story of the cold front. three basic colors on at the map. green it shows we are still in the 50's to the letter to shed his mid-to-upper-forties. we got into the 20s on western maryland. 20 degrees right now. here are the clouds for the next disturbance. for a while we get some breaks, but that is mostly going away as the heavier clouds coming in. bill disturbance moving off the front, and it appears to be less rain than a few hours ago. we will be on the very north edge of this as it passes through the area bid breezy this afternoon, sprinkle a shower to the southwest. 44 to 49. high temperatures steady or falling off a bit

it'll average out near normal, probably colder than normal in the southwest. precipitation above normal from east texas which will be good news. the mississippi valley into the great lakes, much of the northwest. probably wetter than normal. that will include snow in the northern sections, below normal the plain states in to the southwest and the 90 day outlook from the great lakes to the northern plains in to most of the norther central rockies, below normal temperatures for the next three months and above normal through texas into the southeast parts of the country as far as precipitation is concerned over the next 90 days we are looking for below normal and -- john in the drought areas of the southern plains in to the southwest, same in the southeast. above in areas where its been wet and that includes the ohio valley, tennessee in to the northeast and great lakes. >> that's been pretty consistent. >> it has bee. >> thank you. spirit of the woman: what does it feel like when a woman is having a heart attack? it can feel like there's a ton of weight on your

this is one of the higher amounts, the winds right around oakland, that is coming from the southwest. we have a front that will move through the area and all that precipitation will be over to the great lakes and northeast. that front will come in and move on through. no real moisture with that. you don't have to be too concerned about the rain. about a 10% chance of rain tomorrow and that is about it. after that moves out, the high pressure will kickback in and the temperatures will start to reflect a pull from the southwest and the temperatures will go back up to sunday, monday and tuesday and back to the mid 50s to 60. our next chance of rain will come from the west and we will see the clouds increasing on monday and then a better chance of rain on tuesday and wednesday. the showers through the day on both days until they move out on wednesday night. we are in the high tide, that is just after midnight, up and sunny and then tonight, down to about freezing. saturday, 40s most of the day and the temperatures near 50 as the high. then for sunday, we will have a forecast for the raven

we have got split flow and a lot of being a test across the desert southwest. and this is across the northern tier as well a little action watching the rain developing across northeastern sections of florida and georgia. this is actually not an organized storm system but in response to high pressure that's sitting flowing around it. there's an eastern flow there across the atlantic and pushing on to the southeast shoreline and that's what's causing the problems. great lakes look dry. we are showing you we are going to get the swees play again from clouds and that southern system. otherwise we are squeeze play again from cloud and that southern system. otherwise we will have clouds and showers towards the end of the week. a warming trend. a cool crisp morning with fost to scrape off windshield. otherwise after starting again in the teens and 20s, we will make it to 45. it's going to be a cool day mixing in high clouds but nothing out of the ordinary. tonight into the mid-20s to near 30 and we will push to 51 tomorrow, 52 on wednesday and we bring in some rain sh
