we're told there's a large police presence in the 600 block of maryland avenue southwest. >>> and our garrett is live on the scene. garrett what's going on there? >> reporter: well, deborah, bruce, a massive police presence here. police responded to a call around 4:00 this afternoon. it is for a barricaded subject. as you look behind me, you can see the entire block, completely taken up with law enforcement vehicles ranging from the capital police to mpd, fire and ems. the helicopter is circling the building, appearing to be the office building off the corner of sixth and maryland. showing that it is an office building with several different tenants. we don't know which yet if or any of those buildings is the focus of all of this police tension. but again, they've been out here for nearly two and a half hours with several officers that are gathered on the outside corner here, several others have just recently gone inside that building. they've got traffic completely shut down here just south of the mall in several directions. barely passable and again sixth and maryland, completely ba

bruce gordon has more on what's become a frustrating tale in southwest philadelphia. >> reporter: theer beaten sign at the corner of 61st and washington speaks to the past glory of this neighborhood. the horticultural society's greenest block award four years running but that was nearly 30 years ago before a single home took the life out of this southwest philly oasis. there it is mid block a ram shackled connected twin with waist high weeds vacant and falling app parter. neighbors say they've called the city repeatedly with nothing show for it. >> we called license and inspection and told them about it and they're like unless the house is going the fall down there's nothing they can do about it. we're tired of it. >> reporter: frustrated neighbors say the old owners of the place passed away many years ago and left the home to their children. for awhile there was some effort at maintenance. when that effort ended neighbors picked up the slack. the neighbors said she paid to have the backyard weeds cut down. they're on their way back. it's dangerous too. >> a lot of time the front door

that flag is indicating a southwest wind bringing in warmer air and more humid air. that's why there's a heat advisory in effect from noon to 8:00 p.m. tomorrow for the highly urbanized areas around philadelphia, and of course that means that it is going to be hotter and more humid, when you combine the two, the feels-like temperature will get to near 100 during the afternoon and we also have a possible heat wave if we hit 90 again on saturday. that will be a close call. we are in the low 90s now in most areas, even 82 in mt. pocono. 90 degrees in georgetown and in dover, delaware. as we go through the evening, the temperature's not going to drop as much with that wind continuing to bring up warm and humid air, so by 10:00, it's still 83 degrees. we'll see how hot it's going to get and when we are going to see a break from this heat with the seven-day in just a few minutes. >>> we have new video and new information in from the scene of the accident in camden. a school bus hit a 13-year-old boy here on alabama road. originally authorities said it was a 3-year-old boy.
