heavy and thundery, particularly through the morning across parts of wales, central, southern and southwestarts of wales, central, southern and southwest england. this band then pushes its way north and eastwards as the day wears on, becoming confined to scotland through the afternoon, where the north of scotland should be dry with some sunshine, some sunshine behind it as well. but watch out for further sharp and thundery showers developing through the afternoon. temperatures on a par with saturday, really, 14—18 celsius, the top temperature, just 11 celsius for the northern isles, and the winds not as strong as they have been recently, but still quite gusty for the northern isles and also for channel coasts as well. we could likely see gales through the channel, and as we head through sunday night and into monday, another spell of heavy, thundery rain starts to arrive from the southwest. so, this is then how monday shapes up. we still got this area of low pressure close by, and we'll still keep some thundery showers going through the early hours of monday, and at first on monday as well,

you can see the power of this hurricane and what it unleashed on this area of southwest florida. these boats tossed around like toys, resting on dry land in the background behind me. earlier we got out on the water with some of the volunteer rescuers across this area trying to pluck stranded residents off of their islands in some of these hard to reach areas. we got an up close look as to what this area is dealing with. take a look. >> restaurants. [indiscernible] there's like four or five buildings the whole way. >> reporter: you heard stories that there were bodies in some of the canals? >> i heard -- [indiscernible] >> that's the road right there and it's gone. >> yeah. >> reporter: in area is pretty typical of the destruction around here. there's a bridge that's intact just about a block from here, maybe a quarter of a mile. but the road leading to that bridge is completely washed out. the island on the other side of that bridge is cut off right now. >> the people texted me, hey, your house is gone. i came out here yesterday. they let me on. he stayed right there. >> you stay

plenty of showers from the southwest and some of these heavy, possibly even thundery once again, firstugh the afternoon. at least they'll rattle through at quite a pace because of that strong southerly wind — the strongest of the gusts close to the centre of the low during the afternoon, 50 mph not out of the question into the southwest. but always coming from a southerly direction, a mild source. so in between, with the sunshine coming through, temperatures still likely to peak into the high teens, which is pretty good for this time of year. now, as we move into the early hours of saturday morning, the centre of the low will move up into northern ireland, northwest england, and southwest scotland — that's where the frequent sharp showers are likely to be. we may well see some mist and fog forming behind as the winds become just that a little bit lighter, because we've got this little ridge of high pressure building for the start of the weekend. however, won't be long before another low starts to move in for sunday. so saturday, certainly the better of the two days through the weekend

my next guest is helping those in southwest florida recovering from wreckage left behind by hurricanee captain at offshore naples, joins me now from naples, florida to talk about relief efforts there and bill, you sort of just personified the heart of community. you're a guy that got to work in the aftermath of the storm, climbing really out of your own rubble and just helping other people meeting whatever needs you see. tell me about how this storm hit you personally and this kind of volunteer effort that you're spearheading? >> well, as you can see behind me, that's what's left of my house. so i work out of my house. we are on the water here so, you know, that's where i work out of. as far as, you know, the relief effort, we have helped out during dorian and also irma and now this is right in our backyard so i just really tried to use whatever connections i can to help other people. there's elderly people sitting in their homes that still have not taken anything to the curb. we are going through neighborhoods and trying to find those people and send crews in. molly: that's one of th
