new information today about that recent spike in drug overdoses in the city. there have been more than00 since saturday, and it's all linked to a synthetic subpeance. darcyer is live in southwest d.c. to tell us more about this. darcy? wendy, we just wrapped up a prs conference here at the d.c. medical examiner's office l what we jusrned is that here at the office they did some testing of some material that was found just yesterday, and they determined that there's a brand-new synthetic drug on the street here in d.c. at this point they are trying to see if this new drug is connected to some of the overdoses we've seen here over the last several ds. now, like you said, there have been more than 100 overdoses over just the last four days just here in the distric it's bei linked to so-called bad batch of synthetic marijuana, also known as k2 or ice, but what they were telling us at this pressco nference isit that probably something else because this is a new chemical compound, again, that's not been seen here in the district. these drugs are illegal, and d.c. -- the medical examiner is saying they are also extremely dangerous >> this isn't a like marijuana but it acts different. we
