leading edge of the rain now just coming into southwestern virginia northern north carolina continuing come up our way. it's many hours away. the leading edge of the rain will be in the central shenandoah valley in another two or three hours. by noontime early afternoon it's going to move in. here is the timing in the area in green. that's the rain coming into the shenandoah valley. after that coming right into the metro area from the west by around noon to 1:00. our western northern suburbs it will continue there. and the darker colors that's where it may be coming down a little bit harder. that's by mid to late afternoon and late afternoon we could have fog developing too as the rain moves through. rain drizzle, and fog into the evening hours and it continues overnight tonight with very light rain. just enough to make everything wet. temperatures right now under the increase in the cloudy sky are near freezing to a little below freezing in a few spots to the west. dulles down to 30 now. much of montgomery and prince george's county and rest of fairfax county generally above freezing.

alison: back here locally, crews are back out in southwestern virginia today looking for any sign of two missing maryland girls. katherine and sheila lyon were last seen in wheaton nearly 40 years ago. the bedford county sheriff's office started a new search on taylor's mountain today, the same area that investigators searched this past january. two men with roots in bedford county have been named as persons of interest. but not charged in this case. meanwhile, an intense search continues for noah thomas a missing 5-year-old boy in polaski county virginia. investigators don't suspect foul play. his mother said he disappeared sunday morning while she was sleeping. police believe he left on his own and there's no reason to suspect a kidnapping. crews are optimistic that the child will be found. leon: thousands came out to mourn the seven jewish siblings killed in a new york house fire over the weekend. the children aged 5 through 16 were flown to israel overnight where they were laid to rest this morning. the blaze killed three girls and four boys. all members of the jewish community i
