here's tom costello. >> reporter: this is a very important test now of elon musk's spacex starship anden reporting, starship is the biggest rocket ever built. 400 feet tall. we have had other test flights but many ve really ended in disappointment including the one in january when it blew up over the atlantic ocean. after an investigation, the faa has cleared starship to fly again today. 6:30 p.m. eastern time. the goal here is to essentially approve the technology. this is the rocket that they want the use to put humans on the moon within the next two to three years then eventually take humans on to mars. as a part of this test flight, they will deploy some starlink satellite dummy satellites in space to prove they can do that from a moving rocket that's already in space and then in addition in that trademark move that spacex has, they will bring the booster back down and hopelly it will be caught yet again in that kind of pincher move that we've seen. the chop stick move where they grab it right there on the launch pad at the tower. that's going to be critical to see if this mission
