spencer christian happy to be indoors with us. >> indeed i am. here's a look at live doppler 7 hd. we have a wide area of stormy weather mainly in the east bay but the intensity of the storms has diminished significantly in the last hour. we had numerous lightning strikes and a patch of showers earlier but now just have locally heavy downpours. here's a little cell moving between santa clara and milpitas producing wet weather over 101 87 and 880. not exactly what afternoon and evening commuters want to see. up in the north bay it has become more widely scattered. here is a little cell in the central part of napa county. let me pull back and give you the bigger picture. notice how the lightning strikes have disappeared moving up in the antioch area but still quite an expansive area of showers and this will be the pattern going into the evening hours. we'll see the intensity continuing to diminish as storms move from south to north. here's a great view of dark clouds over the bay from our east bay hills camera. some of the areas that received the most rainfall today penn grove in the

. >> and our team coverage continues with nbc 10's george spencer. he's live at temple university hospital where some of the passengers are being taken tonight. george? you seeing a lot of activity there? >> reporter: yeah jim, this is a hospital that is clearly an emergency management mode right now. take a look at the end of this block, you can see philadelphia police have this entire stretch of germantown avenue shut down. and back in these live pictures at the bottom of the emergency entrance here you can see the emergency room doctors and nurses actually waiting outside for incoming patients here. in the hour that we've been on this scene, we have seen mostly philadelphia police vans transporting the victims. those victims have been brought here in groups of four five at a time. we've watched many of them loaded right out of the back of those police vans into wheelchairs and other stretchers. there was really no way for us to keep count during the time we've been out here but the number of injured at this hospital, alone, appears to be more than
