sportsfource is next. saturday. the hawkeyes will take their first west division title into their first big ten michigan state - with the winner almost surely going to the college football playoff. michigan state's only loss came to nebraska, who the hawkeyes just beat on friday. the spartans survived a tough east division with wins over michigan and ohio state. m-s-u is third in the big ten in scoring offense - the hawkeyes are second - both score over 33 points per game. iowa finished the regular season unbeaten for the first time since 1922 - but the hawkeyes know they're playing for a spot in the college football playoff. and they know michigan state will be the toughest test yet. ktiv sportsfource. wayne state takes on carson-newman of tennessee, the southeast regional champions, in the elite eight. that match is thursday in tampa, florida, at 4 in the afternoon. northwestern college is looking for a new head football coach. that's after kyle achterhoff announced his resignation this morning. achterhoff had a 56 and 19 record with the red raiders over seven seasons. northwestern made the naia playoffs three times in that time -- tying for the gpac title in 2014. achterhoff is a 1990 graduate of northwestern coach for 11 years. no replacement has been named. iowa state has won two 12. running back mike warren if the big 12's offensive freshman of the year. warren led all ncaa freshman rushers with over 13-hundred yards, which included six one-hundred yard games and a season-high 245 yards at texas tech. junior nose guard demond tucker defensive newcomer of the year. tucker had 13 tackles for loss -- which was second in the conference. he had six sacks, with 28 total tackles. iowa
