it was down near thornburg in the southeastern section of spotsylvania county. fredericksburg is up here north. this is the 95 corridor running south here. so a tropical storm that had penny-sized hail and wind gusts and heavy downpours with maybe a little hail mixed in. but that's the only storm across the entire viewing area that we even have to talk about this evening. temperatures outside, 94 at andrews air force base. 93 in alexandria. dew points at 60 mean the air is pretty sticky out there. it's drying out in some places as that system swinging through is basically dry. 96 the official high at reagan national after a morning low of 73. a little closer to our averages of 89 and 70. record 104. this is the warmest day we've had all season and only the fifth day of 80-degree weather this year. so not setting too bad of a trend for the first part of the summer. 94 in leesburg. 88 in fredericksburg with that shower that passedhrough cooling them off a couple of degrees. cooler air in the upper midwest. warmer to the south where it is 103 in dallas. all the moi

counties in maryland also under the severe thunderstorm watch. this goes until 5:00. also, for you folks in fredericksburg, stafford, spotsylvania, down into the northern neck and tide water region, also under the watch until 5:00. as you can see there on live doppler not much in the way of rain and certainly no severe weather around the area just yet. so that's definitely welcomed news. you can see there is a little bit more of a severe weather threat if you are traveling towards virginia beach, down towards richmond and virginia beach areas, be on the lookout. under a tornado watch and goes until 7:00. all is fairly quiet around our area at this point in time. cloudy skies, couple of light sprinkles around most of the light rain now up across the northern portions of frederick and washington county, maryland. up into portions of southern pennsylvania and temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s. we caught a break from the heat today. as a result of those clouds, not only didn't we make it to degrees but that did help cut back on our risk of seeing anything in the way of severe weather. still can't rule out one two lonely rumb
