there was obviously no sprim criminal intent on the part of the four year old to intentionally shoot> reporter: but it happened. yesterday at noon here along highway 20 and roland avenue. a putnam county sheriff's deputy stopped to help 31-year-old woman of jacksonville. >> rush to the vehicle he determined she had actually been shot. >> reporter: investigator say she was traveling to putnam county to pick up a horse from family member when the gun went off. shooting occurred inside the vehicle and she had been accidentally shot by her four-year-old son who was riding in back seat behind her. >> reporter: sheriffs office says she was taken to hospital in gainsville in stable condition. >> the last date i have on her is she is in stable condition but improving. >> reporter: deputes say guilt is the legal owner of the gun carried it legally and it was legal to be in the vehicle. still big questions linger. exactly how was the gun stored and how did the child get a hold of the gun in the first place? >> did she keep it out of his hands? did she take every step necessary to keep the gun
