there were a number of trees down in springfield. there is a report of one fatality with a tree hitting a car. the best thing that you can do is stay put in your home. there are so many trees down and so many power lines down the last thing you want to do is leave your home and go out and take a look at night. tomorrow the recovery process will begin. this is from chantilly of a tree down. we will see literally hundreds of thousands of these pictures of trees down power lines down, damage. over 1 million folks are without power in the washington metro powermetropolitan area. we will have to deal with this. we may see some more severe done the storms tomorrow afternoon. the heat and humidity -- severe thunderstorm summer afternoon. the heat and to manateeand humidity will be with us. we could see more damage. let's hope we do not have any more incidents like trees coming down on cars. you do not want to be driving tonight. let the power crews get out.

we're looking good all the way into springfield and then in springfield there had been that constructionn the inner loop of the beltway between 95 and braddock road. let's take a live look there on the northbound side of i-95. again just bunching up a bit here leaving route 6:44 and a quick look at 395 as well on the northbound side which is not too bad as you travel here at duke street. we'll take a look back at the maps again, this time to the other side coming from the west on 66, the dulles toll road you're fine. north of town looking good out of college park. we'll take another look outside and there are no issues to report as you head south on 270, 95 and across the american legion bridge on the west side of town. by the way metro is working on four of its five rail lines this weekend. the orange line will be closed between east falls church and west falls church for work on the silver line connection. shuttle buses will get you around the closure. on the blue line, trains will single track between stadium armory and addison road. the single tracking on the red line will be between

long delays from at least springfield on the beltway and north i-995 corridor. i suggest alternate routes. this is the wilson bridge right now. it looks so innocent. northbound 95, if you need to get over toward baltimore and new york, you want to head west across the american legion bridge, head on the north side of town and back on the 95. do not go northeast on the beltway because you'll get stuck in that traffic with only the right lane open. they did this in june on the inner loop and it caused six to eight-mile backups. some people said they sat in that for two hours. so we're telling you this in advance. if you have to head into the district, go ahead and use 395 or you can get off at route 644 in springfield and head on to telegraph road. you can get back on to the beltway from there as well. if you know the area, you know what i'm talking about. it is going to be very tough. we will be speaking to someone from the project later in the 6:00 hour. >> it starts again when? >> basically it starts tonight and tomorrow and sunday there will be no access to th
