now, here's what we're told happened here at the busy as you can tell springfield mall.rnoon the mall was evacuated as i mentioned and that was prompted by dark black smoke that was seen in a section of the mall as you mentioned in the food court section of the mall. firefighters say the smoke was in fact coming from the sbarro pizza shop caused by a grease incident in the kitchen. according to firefighters there were not any actual flames in the sbarro when they arrived but just a lot of smoke from the grease so as a precautionary measure the mall was evacuated and it was so for a brief period of time we're told for about an hour and then people were let back in to continue with their last minute christmas shopping. again, no one was hurt in this incident earlier today that prompted an evacuation. likely the most stressful part of this whole thing for the last minute shoppers was the worry they would not be able to get back into the mall but as you can tell they have been let back in and shopping is going strong here at the springfield mall. reporting live in delaware c
