i think it's very unlikely that t-mobile would try to buy sprint at this valuation. i think it's very unlikely that t-mobile would accept sprint's stock as a current i at this -- currency at this valuation. so the only real prospects, i think, are soft bank trying to buy t-mobile, and even soft bank is, it's obviously quite levered to the valuation of sprint. so just getting the deal done from a valuation perspective is a hot harder than people seem to think. once you do, you're into what traditional horizontal antitrust analysis would say is a very hard deal to do. typically, it's above 2800 points is a very, very concentrated industry. the wireless industry is already over 3000, i'm talking about hhi which is the traditional evaluation metric. and the increase would be more than 400 points; that is, the increase in the hhi would be more than 400 points. typically, anything over 200 is viewed quite suspiciously. so that's not to say a deal couldn't get done, but it's certainly not easy. now, as you said, the overtures that soft bank has made to president trump are f

do you see sprint, t-mobile or other deals likely to take place under president trump? >> guest: i think that is the most likely deal at least to the attempted. it's not an easy deal to do, and i don't just mean that because the antitrust issues. i will come to that in a second. while it may appear cheap on the surface, based on any real valuation metrics because of some accounting distortions that come from the way they account, it is trading for a very high multiple and the challenge with the combination is not just antitrust it's also is there common ground with respect to companies could agree to in order to get a deal done. i think it is unlikely t-mobile would try to buy sprint at this valuation and it is unlikely they would accept the stock as a currency so the only real prospects are soft think trying to buy a t-mobile and even that is obviously in the valuation of sprint's just getting the deal done from this perspective is a lot harder than people seem to think. once you do, you are into what the traditional analysis would say is a hard deal to do. it typicall
