squaw valley is seeing eight feet of snow and twice the number of visitors. 85% of the trails at kirkwood are open. alpine meadows says that a recent storm drop, 6 to 9 feet of snow on the slopes. we know that more is coming. rain on the way, though, for most of us here in the bay area. here is jen hill with your weekend forecast. >>> today is kind of a mix bag. we had the rap last night, the rain this morning. a little bit of rain around this afternoon and some clearing skies. the cold air is moving in. that's what's dropping the snow levels for tonight. then, tomorrow, more cool air comes in and another chilly night is in the forecast. let's go through the sky forecast. cold front sweeps through the area. as it does, it drives some rain in front of it. we have some lingering showers behind it. that cold air is what's dropping the snow levels. in fact, we are going to see about a half a foot of snow up in the sierra nevada on top of what they have already seen. it looks like it is setting up to be a really good ski season. let's take a look at the forecast for the rainfall for the day us
