the city of lafayette is closing a stretch of st mary's road in both directions tomorrow for emergency roadwork, the city contractor will stabilize and embankment to address a mudslide adjacent to that road. the recent storms caused the slide on the shoulder of st mary's road during the roadwork, detours will be in place that rain boulevard and roar drive access will be permitted to homes in the area. however it will not be possible to drive through the construction area. travel delays should be expected between nine am and four pm when the road is closed. the metropolitan transportation commission is considering a plan to help keep the lights on. across the bay bridge. those lights on the san francisco side of the span will have to come down soon because of where and tear they won't be replaced unless $11 million is raised. the led lights were first installed in 2013 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the bridge. the money will be used to replace and then update the lights. they are set to be removed in march and the new ones installed by september, just in time for the 10th anniv
