st. michaels, nothing really transferred to the weather station with 21 mile-per-hour wind gusts and 71 degrees but basically we have watched some pretty hefty rainfall from some of the storms. gwynn oak, columbia, picking up an inch of rain. we're looking at maryland's most powerful doppler radar and it's that little hook you see there near rock hall and chestertown. that is where we're watching, that is rotation in the clouds. not necessarily working to the ground but look at this, that's what we're watching. i'm going to put this velocity scan in. we're watching the colors, again, the red and green close together, that is just indicating winds in different directions at cloud level. that is where we could be watching the rotation. the storms haven't produced a tornado yet but may drop a funnel cloud to the ground. chestertown is in it and heading up. cecil county looks like you're in it until 10:15. we'll continue to track this and just the potential is here, not a guarantee but if you live in the areas now is the time, get down to the basement or get into interior location of your home. esp

st. louis. look at the time lapse pictures. just absolutely gorgeous day in chicago. a lot of blue sky out there. winds not really much of an issue. a little gusty at times but frankly not much concern. you are looking at near perfect day around the city. we are at 69 degrees right now. plenty of hot air down to the south and, of course, out in the western states they continue to bake out there and they may have some more record high temperatures today. but the cool air up in canada is waiting and it's going to come into the chicago area. in fact, the cold front, the leading edge of that cold air is expected to make its way to chicago tonight around midnight. but the main chunk of cold air that is coldest air will wait until the weekend. temperatures across the entire area at this hour very comfortable. and there is not much moisture around. dew point temperatures as you see in the 40s across the area so it's a good day to get out and enjoy some sunshine and very mild temperatures. there is the wind picture. notice the winds coming out of the south. they will come out of the south, southwest most of th

winds shifting into the north and west. and that should cool things down and we should probably see the st of the 90s. highly unlikely we're going to see 90s into october. and certainly with the pattern that's setting up next week. here's how we're looking for this thursday. one more day with this uncomfortable heat. low to perhaps mid-90s in a few other locations. quite a bit of sunshine and a light breeze. then overnight tonit, we'll have that just passed full moon up. then bottom out near 70 near dawn tomorrow. sunset tomorrow at 7:04. our sunrises getting later and later this time of year. and tomorrow, lower humidity quite likely. we'll have highs reaching the low to mid-90s by mid afternoon. and then as we get into friday night and saturday, we'll have that front approaching with a few clouds, but then ought to clear up byaturday afternoon. and that northwest breeze should cool things down. although, it may still make it intohe low to mid-80s saturday afternoon. and muchooler on sunday. we'll see our winds shifting into the north and northeast, and that will bring in some clouds and cooler tempe
