[applause] next is sharon shapiro. she is one of the finest performers in the history of women's collegiate gymnastics. as a freshman at ucla she won major titles in all four major events as well as the all round. the feat has never been duplicated. she finished with two n.c.a.a. all-around titles and was inducted into the ucla hall of fame in 1999. sharon shapiro. [applause] jake t. snow earned 2 golden gloves. he spent nine of those years with the giants when he became the top defensive player in the major leagues. prime -- prior to being drafted by the yankees, he played at the university of arizona. j.t. snow. [applause] j.j. stokes established himself as one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the history of football during his career at ucla. after earning honors as a sophomore, he exploded for 17 touchdowns as a junior and earned first-team all-american honors. his 17 touchdowns and 28 first career are ucla records. he played nine years at the nfl including eight with the 49ers. j.j.

st. francis for our seniors and our nutrition programs and families. i think we have a lot of challenges right now. we are still in the midst of the great recession. we all know way too many folks who are struggling in a minimum wage jobs pirouette of folks who have been laid off at work. i think as a city, we need to do much better at creating an environment where we have more jobs and more economic development. i know that all of us are committed to ensuring that we have a budget that not only provides basic city services that we have come to expect but make sure that we take care of our most vulnerable. whether it be our at-risk use, our seniors, are disabled, our working families, folks who are out of work. i know something that every public servant who is here is committed to. adding with all come together as a board, as a city. we should come together as san franciscans, and, colleagues, at this time, i hope, and i asked that we unanimously vote for ed lee to be our next mayor. this is also a historic day for the asian-american community. for a c

st. francis yacht club. we have 450 members. we are a small business, a nonprofit corporation. are substantial -- we are a substantial rent-paying tenant of the port of san francisco. we are already seeing the jobs creation and economic development we were all hoping to see. most clubs are experiencing declining membership. many are even closing down. in spite of the fact we do not have a team in the competition, and in this tough economic climate, are small business is doing great. we have nearly 200 union and nonunion employees, most of whom are minorities, who rely on us for their livelihood. we are already hiring local employees in anticipation of the cup. since the host city agreement was approved by this board, and we have experienced substantial growth in our membership. you can see from this chart that our new membership grew 69% last year. i attribute most of this growth to the america's cup. our club is a leading indicator for the path to economic stimulus and local jobs creation that we see. are city desperately needs this type of stimulus and jobs creation. our smal
