st. helena. >> reporter: good morning. we are live at this property known as axr napa valley, about two miles north of st. helena. this is the back side of the property. flames are creeping down the steep hillside. we hear crackling of wood fire and every now and then we see a large ember tumbling down. it is very much active. the firefighters have been stationed overnight to keep the flames from reaching the main structure. there are two main concerns, two areas of main concern for calistoga. one we have to the north of town and the other is to the south where we are now. we captured this footage at 1:30 this morning at a home on fire at 1326 tucker road. by the time firefighters got there, flames were several stories and it had consumed the rear of the home. this continues to be a threat even at night when temperatures are cooler and winds are calmer. to the north of town, it looks like winds are calm and fire is laying low. they've got multiple crews keeping on watch full eye on that part of t

st. helena. the thing to look at his what is going on on mount st. helena today. the hour before it reported at 42 miles per hour, virtually half the wind speed tonight compared to last night. it seems like good news to me. it is still windy, the red flag warning is still there but the wind is not as bad. we look at the wind model that tells you everything, after midnight things cool off and you see at 2 am they start to fire up, it is not as aggressive on the central and south bay as it was last night. mostly in the northeast quadrant and by 9 am it is gone. some really positive news, we are not out of the woods on this thing but if we can get through noon tomorrow with what we are seeing outside now with some of the current wind speeds i am feeling good. hopefully it will stay that way . when i come back we will look at the forecast that includes less wind and cool overnight lows. >>> thousands of customers are facing another night of outages as part of the pg&e public safety power shutoffs. crews are still inspecting lines to make sure there is no damage. here

st. helena clocking almost 90 miles per hour. a blackhawk over the mt.area. 72 in pleasanton reporting about 66. napa airport reporting 53. here is a look at current conditions where it is breezy out the. we have a northeast flow meaning it is very dry. fairfield reporting wind gusts of 32 miles per hour in santa rosa reported wind gusts of 30. if we shift the south, take a look at the numbers. not quite as windy over the south bay but the wind continues. half moon bay reporting gusts of 29. livermore, 21 for monday afternoon, we are looking at not only what we can expect as far as the way. but the wind direction. by late today it looks like we get a little bit of a north westerly flow. that will help along the coastline. relative humidity 25% and towards the santa cruz mountains, relative humidity is 29%. into areas that livermore, vacaville and the north bay in the relative humidity numbers are still in the single digits. very very dry. it takes all the way until tuesday afternoon before we noticed livermore reporting relative humidity of 33%. spanish

st. helena dipped below the 30 miles per hour range. it's the wind at the peaks that is the sticking point as we go into the evening of we have a low pressure system that dropped down over nevada. you see high and low pressure squeeze together. it drives the wind offshore which, of course, increases our fire danger because we have such dry fuels out there as we have not had rain in a long time. we if in a few weeks down the line. right now nothing coming into the forecast. the red flag warning is up right now. this is in these areas as some of the wind could mix down. we're look looking for gusts at 30 am i correct. we look at the wind here, and look at futurecast, it doesn't look bad at 7:00 p.m. the action is napa and perhaps st. helena, it's over in winters and then it ramps down as we get into tomorrow morning. we catch a bake as we get into saturday and the beginning of sunday before we have another round of wind coming our way. but, today, breezy conditions in our hills, a little cooler, but still above average, 75 in san francisc
