so, lambert field, st. louistional has a longer runway and we'll find out how long, clearly 10,000 feet or above which will give the pilot a lot more time to bleed that speed off. and they also have, our understanding, better emergency personnel should something go wrong. so, they've dealt with these types of things before and they've got better emergency personnel, a longer runway and giving the pilot more options, also, a wider runway. so, this is 150 feet, at this cahokia airport in illinois. you'll have more work room and something happens and you tweak at that plane one way or the other the pilot has a little more room to work. >> megyn: we're going to listen to the chopper pilot again. >> even close to lambert at this stage of the game and we may or may not have success with that. we want to let you know that. if you see the helicopter turn circles here, you'll understand why. but in terms of just manpower, yes, there would easily be, i'm sure four or five times the amount of equipment at lambert than there

st. louis had 12 inches. this isn't your average snowstorm. st. louis is not a very snowy city. they got a foot of snow. it was the most snow they've had in one single storm going back since 1982. and here it was, the end of march. st. louis should typically be about 60 degrees. i think you get the gist. the storm is moving through the ohio valley, now hitting maryland, d.c. and maryland. we've picked up as much as three to four inches in some areas of maryland. that's pushing into philadelphia and new jersey. the storm will be gone by tomorrow. indianapolis and columbus, around six inches there. d.c. will probably end up with two to four. same with maryland. philadelphia and new york city, a little less. one to two inches. big, huge airports get enough delays, it will ripple across the country. it's kind of calm in the west. there is a storm coming on shore over the next 24 hours in the west. but it's mostly just going to bring clouds. there's not a lot of rain with it. we'll keep the showers out of the forecast. temperatures not bad. upper 50s to low 60s from seattle to l.a.,

this was st. louis.argest snowstorm in the last 30 years, it was 1982 since you had a storm this big. 12 inches of snow at the end of march in st. louis. ridiculous. it also snowed about 9 inches in kansas city, 6 to 10 inches in across areas of denver, now it's still snowing as the storm is located just right where indiana, ohio and kentucky meet. pretty good snow near cleveland. watching snow toward northern indiana and ending in st. louis. some of the heavier snows moving through d.c. here's washington, d.c. the blue shows you the heavier snows now baltimore starting to get into the mix too. let me show you what it looks like in washington, d.c., the capitol, you could see every now, a quick -- you could see snowflake going by the lens and a little white snow coming down too. a heavy, wet snow, temperatures 34, so the roads may be okay for awhile. bridges and overpasses could be trouble and anywhere outside of the beltway could have issues too. the snow goes all the way back to southern pennsylvania a

maybe seeing five to eight inches of snow developing from st. louis over toward indianapolis. st. louis you've been rain earlier. you're crossing over into snow but this stretch of i-70 from kansas city to st. louis, stay off it if you can. major problems. by tonight, into tomorrow moves out toward the mid-atlantic, central jersey, philadelphia, washington, d.c. looking at maybe three to four inches of snow. we still have another big storm. this is what it looks like on the satellite radar picture. you see where all of our winter wampl warnings are wichita, pittsburgh area, parts of west virginia, central appalachians. there's a warm side to the storm as well down across areas of florida. we have slight risk for severe weather from around the charleston, south carolina area through savannah, back towards about albany. we have one last bit of a tornado watch in effect until 11:00 a.m. as this line line of storms pulls through here. we'll likely see another tornado watch later on off toward the east. so severe weather with it as well. behind this storm the cold air gets reinforce aga
