st. patrick's day and i looked into all of this. it was fun for me because i was able to confirm the oral history and the records so i wrote this whole story about the difficulties of the irish migration down through the generations what happened. a few months after wrote the story which as you can imagine was very emotional for me to write i went down to the border for the first time to report on the border. they went to douglas arizona and i write about this in my first book. that was the first summer, december 2000 that we first started hearing about this death it was not a common thing in arizona before that because we didn't have that many migrants. it was not a good place to travel through. it was so dangerous because of the desert. the federal policy and el paso and san diego immigration was stopped because the geography in between was so forbidding that nobody would come. but we are finding was people were coming to arizona anyway and starting to die in large numbers for the first time. so i went down to report on that and i
