clearwater beach, st. pete, bay shore, the high tide times there. for us, reign rain chance, well, about 60% for the next couple days. by sunday, we get back into a more normal pattern and looking better by labor day. >>> all right, well, right now, there's water nearly level with the riverwalk in downtown tampa. and that's where we are situated here at the news center. let's check in with he's up on the roof top. how are the water levels there? >> reporter: still rising. of course, we had high water manatee, sarasota county, that was related to the excessive rainfall. and now we are starting to see the coastal and tidal impacts of hurricane hermine. and look behind me there, some of the low-lying areas of the riverwalk, that's where we're starting to see the hillsborough river starting to encroach on those spots as hurricane hermine passes by to the west. the windeds picking up and into our local rivers, filling up the storm drain, not allowing the areas to drain as they normally would when the heavier rainfall is on top of them. and we have video

st. pete beach gulfport and treasure island all send their sewage water into st. petersburg. with all that rain that we got yesterday, their treatment facilities around max capacity. that's where issue is. they wereiscug wr nighr this rning if they were going to discharge some of that water into the bay. now to be clear, when we say sewage water we're not talking about the water we're talking about the water running off your lawn, pipes have been taking a beating since yesterday. millions and millions of gallons of water. officials say all three the plants here in st. pete were operating a capacity. and that need to make a move bfore the effects of the tropical storm hit the st. petersburg area. they've contacted the department of environments protection to notify them. that likely they will be discharging partially treated water into the bay. now back in june, tropical storm so city was forced to actually dump ten million gallons of city sewage into the bay. and the city actually spent about $400,000 to add an additional 3 million gallons of radar storage in one of their tre

st. pete beach, and this is looking from the lows, and i point this out because this time beach to show you, and the waves were crashing to right about there, and again, things looking much better for us this morning, but make sure you hang on to the umbrellas, because the rain chances lie ahead into the next couple of days here. a live look from freedom plaza, and a nice start there. 74 this morning, and the forecast calls for isolated showers and storms to begin rolling on shore, right around 8:00 this morning, and we will have the chance of scattered downpours throughout the day. 83 at noon, temperatures at 86 by 4:00 p.m., and right now, pretty comfortable, especially 73 inland, and 77 for clear water and tampa, and 78 in st. pete this morning. as mentioned, we are tracking the rain fall, the showers just offshore of citrus, hernando and pine island. a very good downpour sitting offshore it will generally head sitting back over the gulf, i think a lot of this will generally roll east or northeast, and we may see this build a little to the south, and we will be keeping our eyes on that.

st. pete beach. and when high tide happens this afternoon, that tide will be even higher which will keep the rain from being able to the drain off the streets and things like that, causing a flooding issue. and the low tide is going to be higher than normal. winds speeds at about 15 miles per hour. but we have wind gusts up to about 25 to 30 miles per hour at this point. it's all because of the counterclockwise winds around the tropical storm. which is going you see the yellow area here, tropical storm-force winds to south carolina this afternoon. but for us, it's continuing that wind off the gulf of mexico which leads to the threat, again for the higher tides and flooding. 60% rain chance off and on, heavy downpours. and tomorrow while we will see more sunshine, still a lot of rain in the tropical atmosphere. not until sunday and especially labor day when we dry out. >>> the roadways, well they howard frankland bridge. you can see the water over here to the right. and there's no delays on the howard
