st. pete beach camera surf is picking up rain has been coming down pretty heavy as well. actually we've watching a couple people running around on the beach. and that's really not a good idea. because, inside some these cells we've been noticing some rotation. so there's that possibility of a quick water spout or tornado in with how quick these cells are moving. you don't want one of these to catch you outside in an unprotected area. there you can see surf really starting to build as well. in clearwater beach. skytower radar active. lots of storms out into the gulf of mexico. and heaviest portion right now has been working its way through pinellas county. bridge and down into manatee and sarasota. in fact, just a few minutes ago, as the biggest portion of this was moving through sarasota, their winds were gusting close to 50 miles an hour with winds sustained at about 40 miles an hour. obviously inside these individual cells, you can get some very strong winds, and that in itself can cause damage as well. in these purple shaded areas, that's where the rain is coming down h

st. pete beach, and this is looking from the lows, and i point this out because this time beach to show you, and the waves were crashing to right about there, and again, things looking much better for us this morning, but make sure you hang on to the umbrellas, because the rain chances lie ahead into the next couple of days here. a live look from freedom plaza, and a nice start there. 74 this morning, and the forecast calls for isolated showers and storms to begin rolling on shore, right around 8:00 this morning, and we will have the chance of scattered downpours throughout the day. 83 at noon, temperatures at 86 by 4:00 p.m., and right now, pretty comfortable, especially 73 inland, and 77 for clear water and tampa, and 78 in st. pete this morning. as mentioned, we are tracking the rain fall, the showers just offshore of citrus, hernando and pine island. a very good downpour sitting offshore it will generally head sitting back over the gulf, i think a lot of this will generally roll east or northeast, and we may see this build a little to the south, and we will be keeping our eyes on that.
