council will meet again on the topic next month. pinellas county is debating a similar ordinance. 3 3 the tampa bay rays are one step closer, to finding a new home. the st. pete city council has agreed in *terms, to a new deal proposed by mayor rick kriseman. 3 it requires the team to pay up to 24-million dollars annually if they leave before their contract is up. any redevelopment revenue for the 85-acres of tropicana field land would go into an interest- bearing escrow account. if the rays stay in the city to the end of their contract in 20-27 -- the team gets half of that money. it the team leaves *before their lease is up.. the city keeps *all the money. the rays also can't announce a new home for six months. the city council could formally *vote on the plan, as soon as next thursday.. just one more reason to play the "powerball" this weekend. the record- setting jackpot, just keeps getting bigger. it's now hit the 700 *million dollar mark. thats up about 25 million from yesterday morning... and we still have two more *days of ticket sales ahead. this is already going to be the *biggest lottery jackpot in u-s history. the drawing is saturday night at 11.
