reporting live, i'm stacey cohan. back to you. >> if i can ask a quick question, because it's been interesting what the police have not said this morning, there is a woman dead, apparent homicide. looking for the boy and car, do they have thoughts, looking for a particular person, a suspect? do they have any idea who might have that car? >> reporter: well, we've asked that specifically, repeatedly i have asked them since you seem to believe the boy is with this car, does that lead me to believe there is a suspect in mind? they say it is simply too early to reveal that. but they believe that the car and this boy are connected. it does not appear, at least from anybody i've spoken with, that she has -- we don't know what happened to the father of this boy or the relationship with him. usually that is the first place they look. police have been reluctant to give out any information on who they are looking for. tony? >> interesting. thank you very much. >>> new this morning, fire forces several families from their homes.

. >> stacey cohan has more. a stad ending to a tragic story. >> reporter: it is, you know, we have had two young children here in montgomery county killed this year, stabbed to death and a second time, it's a stepfather that is under arrest. in this case, jessica nguyen, it's her 42-year-old stepfather that is charged with her murder. jessica was foundd can in may inside -- found dead in may inside her gaithersburg home, found in the basement. there was a sheet left behind of a small sword and on that there was dna evidence linked to david hang. we visited the home where he lived with the woman who described herself as his wife and showed us the search warrant for boots worn by him and there was a boot print found on the crime scene that may have matched the boot. this is what neighbor his to say about mr. hang and his wife. >> have you had any interactions with them? judge they don'tcome talk or come outside. and only a nighttime wheny that in the house. >> reporter: mr. hang was legally married to jessica's fa

stacey cohan has more. good morning. >> reporter: good morning.e have been searching several parks in the montgomery county area. they say it is a viable lead. it is not just a hunch that is leading them to the specific locations as they try to find a trace of this missing 11-year- old boy. now, he and his mother jane mcquain were last seen sneer their germantown apartment september 30th over two weeks ago and jane mcquain, his mother was found -- [no audio ] curtis lopes has been arrested. he has not cooperating with police. the father of one of will item's best friends says william's disappearance is devastating. >> it breaks my heart. my son kind of tore up about it too. they grew up together for the last five or six years. >> reporter: curtis lopez has waived extradition which means he will be heading from north carolina back here to maryland where investigators will get another crack at him. but so far, he has not revealed anything about the 11-year-old boy who is missing who is not, by the way, his son. >>> a young child is overing after fal
