i'm stan verrett. things got serious in dallas. the dallas stars said they had no reason to be concerned about rich peverley's condition because he had been fine in each of their last two games but before that last week peverley sat out because of an irregular heartbeat and missed the preseason and season opener because of a procedure to correct it. then monday peverley collapsed during the stars game against columbus in dallas. just about six minutes into the game he collapsed on the stars bench. doctors treated him in the tunnel for what they called a card event and regained consciousness later taken to a hospital. he is in stable condition. but will remain there for observation. peverley is in his eighth season, first with the stars and came over in an off-season trade with the bruins and helped boston win a stanley cup three seasons ago. last september he had that procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat a condition discovered in his preseason physical. stars are scheduled to play at st. louis later tonight. >>> now back to
