stansbury for her questions. >> thank you so much mr. chairman, and thank you to the committee for letting me participate today. as folks have noted already on this hearing this morning, we're not only celebrating the findings of the webb telescope but also the successful launch of artemis one. and as a woman in stem, i want to just note that it's been led by an amazing group of women including charlie blackwell thompson who is the first woman ever in american history to oversee a nasa countdown and launch, and so this is long overdue and history making along with all of the scientific discoveries that we're talking about this morning. and i too want to add to the chorus of everyone who's been working on the webb telescope and the science that's coming out of it. after three decades of bipartisan work, dedicated collaboration by our extraordinary scientists and engineers at nasa, our space industries, and of course scientists across the world, this amazing telescope launched last december. and i want to say on a personal note, i was amon

myself and commissioner stansbury and heldfond worked on that item, protect our benefits if they are listening they are not here today but worked collaboratively with us. we worked with our controller, and it was in my opinion something long overdue and just for the record, as i understand it one of the first times in the city history that there was a benefit that is afforded to beneficiaries taken away regardless of how the court decisions came down. it was something that had been afforded and removed and so we did everything we could to mitigate the cost to our system here as well as the system the financial system in san francisco. very proud of the work of everyone that was actively involved in helping move that forward and having that resolved and 65 percent of the voters of san francisco agreed and so we are very happy. we also were able to work out the going forward the ceo/cio position and that is something also we worked collectively on so that is now codified in the city charter and again thank you for all parties involved. stansbury: last week new mexicans showed up across the state in city, every county and every community, from albuquerque to chico, from sandia, pueblo, to roswell and ruitoso. over 70% of new mexicans voted to invest in early childhood education and care because new mexicans believe in our people, they believe in our communities, and they believe that every single child should have what they need to thrive. but we have one more hurdle to cross to make this a reality and that sits here with our body here in congress. because of antiquated laws that were put on the books over a century ago we must provide concurrence so our communities are able to tap these funds and make historic investments in our kids. so today i urge every single member of this body to hear our voices. to hear the voices of new mexicans and our children. new mexicans want our kids to be able to access the resources they need. they are ready to lead the nation and mr. speaker, i inch this body to pass this concurring language now without delay and invest in new mexico, our children, and our future. with that, i yield
