today in the bay's stephanie stanton is in san diego with a look at the latest on a long rescue effortrning. passengers certainly can't wait to escape the nightmare on the high seas. the ship is outside the harbor about six or seven miles offshore. take a look at a live picture. you can see what's happening. the ship is being towed by two tugboats. four vessels are going out to meet the 113,000 ton ship. once the sun comes up, they will maneuver the ship into port. it is expected to be here as early easy 7:00 a.m. local time. at that point passengers will begin the process of dis-em bashing. one of the reporters from one affiliate in bakersfield, california was speaking to one of the passengers on the cell phone. she was explaining that each passenger is being given a number and they will be going in groups in an orderly fashion to get off of the ship. as you can imagine, that can't happen soon enough. they lost power when a fire broke out in the engine room. a power with a generator. it has been drifting offshore. they have been without air conditioning, hot food or telephone service.
