we begin with starbucks. in a vote of confidence for the american consumer for overpriced caffeine, they set their first dividend. what is the play? >> the play here is absolutely starbucks. a stock we like for a lot of reasons. frankly, the cash story at starbucks which facilitates the dividend announced today as well as the buyback is sort of a subheader to the story. what we thinks drives the story is driven not just by top line of the course of 2010, but a margin story which we think still has legs to it. if you look at the broader restaurant sector, starbucks is the single best improvement story. we think that story is going to carry out through the rest of 2010. the stock's a buy right here. >> what about con ohco phillips getting out of russia. number one or number two in size in russia. selling half of that stake. and they're going to use the proceeds to do a stock buyback. would this be a buy conocophillips, or they're getting out of a great market and no? >> i go a whole other direction entirely. wh

starbucks wants to see the system changed. the coffee giant says it spends more on health care than on coffee beans. cnnmoney.com's poppy harlow in new york tells us more about starbucks and health care. poppy, hi. >> it's hard to believe that a coffee company would spend more on health care but starbucks says it spends $300 million a year on health care. one of the reasons for that is they're different than a lot of other companies in their sector in that they offer health insurance to their employees after they work there for three months and the part timers, too, people who work 20 hours or more a week. the baristas behind the counter. when we talked to the ceo about their business, health care, all of it, he took back to his childhood and talked about why he refuses to give up providing that health care at the company despite the cost. pretty interesting story. take a listen. >> i grew up in brooklyn in the projects, which is subsidized housing. my parents were great working class people, but at the same time as we grew up

while we're looking at menus, a new item for starbucks shareholders: a dividend. starbucks will pay its shareholders a quarterly dividend of a dime per share beginning in a month. the stock is just off two and a half year highs. sprint is consistently among the most actively traded stocks on the new york stock exchange. it did almost 150 million shares today, rallying close to $4 a share for the first time since mid-january. the company unveiled the first u.s. phone designed to use the super high speed 4g wireless network. it will be for sale this summer. that put pressure on at&t and verizon. biotech firm genzyme continues to have some problems with a plant in massachusetts, problems that may lead the food and drug administration to take action. genzyme is at a six-week low tonight. while production will continue at the allston, massachusetts plant, the company expects the f.d.a. to have someone else oversee manufacturing there, which would lead to higher operating costs. smart energy has a big buzz phrase for public utilities, things like advanced energy meters.

one of the other standouts today, starbucks. remember starbucks was having so many problems during the recession in 2008. they have cash and they're going to issue a dividend and first time ever and they also are going to buy back more stock. take a look at apple. a lot of people think apple should do something like that with its huge war chest of cash. the stock keeps moving higher. i would imagine a lot of investors not that disappointed. finally, before i toss it to brian, take a look at genzyme. likely to have to disgorge profits. check out mike huckman's blog for more. >> thank you very much, bertha. we traded down pretty sharply after the inventory numbers came out from the briefly dipping below $80 a barrel. much bigger build in crude inventories than expected. the interesting take away while we bounced off those lows and now down 1.20 dollar and firmly above $80 a barrel. overall demand up about 3.5%. in terms of the whole complex. everything trading down today. bob, the weakest of all of those in that space. i also want
