it's going to start in the north bay. >> yes, starting from north and making its way across the rest of the bay area as we go into today. we are under a microclimate weather alert as we get ready for that rain and the wind, but at least we do have a dry start now. as we take a look at some of our cameras and what to expect as you make your way out the door for work, it's in the mid-40s in walnut creek, we're in the low 40s in san jose, as well as san francisco. fog is not too bad this morning. we've seen some patches of it in the north bay, coming through parts of the delta as we get some of that really dense central valley fog starting to drift in. but as far as temperatures for today, we're having to keep the jackets on, as we reach into the upper 50s and low 60s, and essentially, once again, rain will be arriving. make sure you have the umbrellas for late morning in parts of the north bay, and san francisco starts to see that rain around 11:00 to noon, moving into parts of the east bay as well for the lunch hour, and into the south bay later on this afternoon. so we'll be tracking

and, you know, start to relent. but unfortunately, this low pressure system is just one of them are going to be headed our way. so you can see the one that's sitting off the coast right now. not really bringing us any rain. it's more just cloud cover that we've got out there right now. just a few drizzles as well that making their way in just a couple sprinkles. wind is relatively calm. that is also going to be changing as we get into tomorrow. right now, you can see about 14 miles per hour and half moon bay. it does show that southerly flow and that south southwesterly wind is going to pick up ahead of the next system that's going to be heading our way. and that is why we're going to see a wind advisory for, as you can see, most of the bay area so will be around bayside also up and down the peninsula right into the north bay, particularly along the coast. but a lot of us are going to be seeing wind 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts potentially up to 50 miles per hour. now that kicks it at 07:00am until 07:00pm on

this flow starts to change where we start to see the rain, and eventually we will start to bring in somef the storms to california after it has been over spots like seattle for the past several weeks. as the jet stream dips, we will see the rain coming in, and that line of storms, the upper level flow of the winds that carry the storm systems finally coming our way. we will see that coming in early on sunday morning with a line of rain starting to move into the coastline, parts of the north bay, by about 7:00 to 8:00 in the morning. even during the evening, it's still spreading across the bay area and continuing into monday afternoon. on tuesday, we are still looking at soggy weather, but then it does look to taper off by the end of the week. with a couple storms coming our way, we could see the possibility in some parts of the north bay with two to three and possibly four inches of rainfall for next week. much of the bay area seeing an inch or two of rainfall. that's really significant after this very dry start to the winter as well as our rainy season as we go through the next few days

so our north bay will get the clearing first and then we'll start to see everyone else start to clearain, you see it's still sending some of those light showers up to the north bay. but the heavier showers are off to the east right now is the system is starting to move a bit. so that rain continues throughout today, but less intense, far less intense than it was this morning. and then it continues to move to the south. and that's when we start to get clearing as we get later into this evening. and tomorrow's let me show you hour by hour how this works out. here is 3.30, again, counter clockwise circulation, right? so you see that being dragged around. 7 o'clock. still some showers, but they're out in antioch. they're a little bit lighter. and then we get into 10:30pm, tonight. we start to see some meaningful clearing. and then tomorrow is looking really good. so what we have left to get between about a 10th and quarter of an inch, the rest of this is going right down to southern california where they're going to be dealing with some issues and have some flood watches that are up. here

it started at 1:50 this morning. you see the video from the vehicle, it looks like a scion, that caught fire on the side of the road. the investigator is trying to figure out what caused the fire at 1:50 a.m. you see in the next video here, that wind took that car fire and sent it up into the hills with the flames. it burned 50 acres. this was a three--alarm fire. one-alarm was a set of units brought out here to protect the homes on the other side of the hill with a tract housing development. that was of great importance to protect that. the fire did come within 30 feet of the homes. as you are about to hear, the homes and that neighborhood had defenible space. >> the community in the contra costa county area had defensive space. it really did help us save the structures. >> reporter: the grass was three-to-five feet in the areas which hadn't been abated. imagine if the grass wasn't cut down by the homes, then that fire could have grown to the neighborhood. the fire department and what people have done prior to this

the high pressure is starting to break down and move out of the way, and then we'll start to see these storms rolling in for the end of the weekend into early next week. i mentioned that it has been really dry. this is why. usually at this time of year, we get some juicy storms coming in here, but we haven't seen much of that with oakland only getting less than an inch of rainfall. that is still about 3 inches below what we typically see for this date for our water year. you can see those deficits running all across the bay area. it looks like we are going to see something to help us out here. it starts on saturday evening with some wet weather coming into the coastline, and off-and-on rain throughout the day on sunday into monday. then it may even continue with that second storm off the coast coming in. so, between those two systems coming in, it looks like we could see some really high rainfall totals in areas in red, about 1 to 2 inches of rainfall. as the week progresses, there could be more of 3 to 4 inches of rainfall while the sierra gets a decent amount of snow. we could use a
