perhaps the biggest news was the state budget bill which took several weeks to mature but ultimately resulted in a big win for the presidio project. the project is now poised to award its second phase as a public-private partnership, and we expect it to become an example for other projects around the state to follow. i was joined by commissioner daly and deputy director chang and others as we hosted a coordination meeting with the associates from government and the mtc on the implementation of the sustainable community strategy and the new regional transportation plan. we had a wide ranging discussion on policy issues and emphasized that we need to insure we could get transportation infrastructure funding commensurate to this share of the region's population and appointed growth. this plan will have considerable land use impacts on san francisco, housing expectations, and transit expectations. i have asked evac and mtc if they could serve as a coordinator for follow up meetings. i look forward to their leadership in facilitating those meetings. colleagues, in the future, when these m
