you can't rig an election in the state of ohio. d 33 of the 50 state attorneys general are republicans. and they are all saying the same thing and i'm sure they're democratic counterparts are saying the same thing. i asked him about that. is this a dangerous message that you are sending to people that the voting system isn't sacrosanct. that there's questions about the integrity? are there questions about the integrity? i asked for evidence of that. he told me he would talk about it in his speech which he did. he said there are a lot of dead people who are still on the voter rolls. that's his evidence that those names haven't been purged. maybe he sincerely believes this but the people who are in charge of the elections are taking it very personally. and saying you know, you can't rig the elections in the united states of america. >> care to guess which way ohio is going? >> you know, it's been a fascinating year. and they really are in a dead heat here. and there has never been a republican make it to the white house without taking

on this page i stacked four of the bigger schools in the state. ohio state, cleveland state, kent state and university of akron. then we start looking at the cral all breaks down. happy to report no murders, negligent manslaughters on any of these campuses. when we get to rape and follow it over here we can see there were 22 rape cases in 2014 at ohio state. the blue b, cleveland state had two and kent state with 9 and the university of akron main campus had seven. one of the other interesting portions i like to look at is when you click on arrests. when you start looking at violations. these are kids underage drinking on campus and are caught and arrested. 200 at ohio state. look at this number. 199 at kent state. they equal what ohio state has, but they have half the student population. interesting to see what kind of thing goes on there. this is a useful tool for people looking at schools down the road. if you have a kid in high school right now, it is an interesting way to look at it and get some stats before you send i have posted this. cleveland

we had a secretary of state dedicated to making voting harder in ohio. it is as badly gerrymandered as any state. we are a 50-50 state, but it is almost guaranteed that we have a 12-4 congressional majority for republicans. counties have been split into multiple pieces your districts are absurd when you look at the shape and lack of competitiveness. we had good candidates challenging republicans in gerrymandered districts, but it is an uphill battle. and others led a process to gerrymander ohio worse than anytime in ohio's history. it is an insult to democracy. to same topic, we have gone court and succeeded in showing that the secretary of state, to her point, for the past six years he has been purging registered voters from the voting rolls in ohio. almost 2 million people were purged. some of those people had passed away or moved. many others were purged because they had voted infrequently. he purged many people because they had not loaded in recent recent- not voted in years. it was rolled that by doing so he violated federal law for years. we were in

we started with this idea, why is ohio a battleground state? if you have paid attention this year, you may have heard now and then someone saying that ohio will not be the decisive state in this election. i'd like to have about what makes ohio a battleground state or not, and factors that will push the state one way or the other. hopefully at the end i will give some perspective of where the future lies with regard to ohio politics. let me get started here. --st i want to i understand i want to identify four specific factors that are true in any election and any context. i am a social scientist so i am interested in looking at social human phenomena, seeing what factors we can identify that seem to cause outcomes to occur in multiple environments. the first thing i will talk about his fundamentals. as political scientist we use the word fundamental to describe the state of the economy, but it can be more than that. i will talk 18 event about campaign finance. it is not my expertise. it is important in terms of campaign effort. third item, how mu
