i start my day from home by helping a student from sun set or richmond get to san francisco state or city college or i help someone in my neighborhood get to downtown. over the months i've become friends with a number of repeat passengers. they asked about my riding and i ask about their classes or careers. after my downtown drop off and head back to my neighbors. thanks to lift mid after my morning ride i have time to go home and work on either my writing or attempt to get my short stories published. thanks to lift i can pursue my dreams of becoming a fiction writer and not fear losing my home because i did not choose the 9:00 to 5:00 route. i'd like to let you know they have added so many layers to the people of the city. they are so kinds and caring and 3d and human and live and they have made me a better person. i wake up everyday to hang out with them and i am endlessly fortunate to call that my job. before lift i worked as a bartender and it was impossible to get a cab to take me back to the sun set. it is because i know this personally how difficult it can be to get a ride to this

things, people who have looked at my books know that i look at all the counties in the united states or all the cities in the united states by year for as many years as that data's available and try to compare how crime rates change over time in places that change their laws relative to ones that don't. well, my concern about government funding is two-fold. one, i don't really see the need. it's not like we're building cyclotron out there. what it is, i would go frequently and have a graduate student and say, look, if you work on this with me, i could pay you but i could save some and i could make you my co-author so why don't we do this. a lot of graduate students want a chance to be able to have their name on an article that's going to be published because they want to get an academic job later on. the problem with government funding research is that politicians cannot keep politics out of who they give the money to. i'm not saying that when they go and give this money they say, and you'll get this conclusion. what happens is they know the politics of different people who apply and the people who ag

city. i'm not a religious person, i'm a spiritual entity experiencing a human experience. people visualize the state of the city or the community and it reflects on how the visitors and citizens see compassion dispensed by the people. and you are the representative of the people. i help dispense wellness to mostly veteran patients and some of them can't be here today because they suffer for such extreme cases of ptsd which includes insomnia, depression, anxiety and panic attacks. regular meds given to them by their -- the federal government or the state government rarely works or it is so strong that they can't function, and which points to its toxicity. a couple veterans tell mel the only way they get sleep is from cannabis. no matter how strong the drugs they're given other than cannabis, none of them seem to work. anyway, i hope you can see yourself to express grace in your decision about 5% compassion in our community because one out of six people living in this city are disabled and a lot more of them need and/or are using marijuana than come to these thing. anyway, thank you for listening and [inaudible]. >>
