when you look at vanguard, black rock, state street, these are passive etf and mutual fund shops.hey should not be actively involved in corporate governance. that's not part of their investment objective, they are passive. when i said those three companies owned 19%, let me be clear, that's not their money, that is our money. all the viewers at home that have money in those etfs or mutual funds, that is our money. in 2022 there was a piece of legislation that failed to get through congress called the index act. what the index act would have done is would have required the 19% owned by those 3 companies i mentioned, that they pass through the proxy votes to the retail investors that have money in those companies that failed to pass. we need to get back to it because disney had a series of mishaps that nelson peltz wanted to fix. look at the disastrous box office result of 2,023. antman a bust, indiana jones, haunted mansion, marvel's which all best, the other one that was a winner, guardians of the galaxy. go woke go broke. maria: nelson peltz was upset they kept redoing bob iger,

katie: you have that on one end and state street saying of 50 basis point in june. underneath what we're talking about you have inflation but we are talking about high prices continuing to rise. what does that mean for the consumer? ann: what we have seen the consumer to is adjust their purchasing. when i think about what that means for certain sectors, it's a continuation of what started last year which is 17% training down to cheaper options. katie: there was a story crossing the terminal a couple of minutes ago from goldman sachs that advocates it is time to take the profits you have made in technology and broaden it out to other areas. maybe it is time for other sectors to see that love and see that in the price action. how do you feel about the tech? ann: we pre-alternated to names like old-time to try and get more diversification if we go into this uncertain environment. katie: we are on the heels of cpi figures and people reprioritizing their spending. why beauty? is that broad brush strokes? ann: historically it comes to be resilient because people said at h
