next this evening the death of an 18-year-old fraternity pledge at louisiana state university prompting the suspension of all greek life on campus. preliminary results of the autopsy are just in tonight and here's adrienne bankert now. >> reporter: tonight another tragic fraternity death. police at louisiana state university investigating the death of 18-year-old freshman max gruver. >> hazing is dangerous, irresponsible and unacceptable and will not be tolerated at lsu period. >> reporter: gruver brought to the hospital wednesday night. he later died. a preliminary autopsy today finding he had a highly elevated blood alcohol level and traces of thc in his system, the chemical found in marijuana along with swelling in the brain and fluid in the lungs. all greek activities shut down for now. >> if we can't stop hazing, what else is there to do? >> reporter: while it's not been proven hazing occurred the fraternity's national organization promises that the chapter and any individuals were found to have violated our policies will be held accountable. fraternities now under renewed scrutiny
